Zechariah 10 — Days of Restoration
The LORD had me reread this the other day.
Zechariah 10 NKJV Restoration of Judah and Israel
1 “Ask The LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone.”
This pretty much says ask and you will receive in this hour. ASK for rain, Water representing Holy Spirit, and grass for everyone…every thing needed for life. The animals need grass to eat, grass doesn’t grow in a dust-bowl.
Note the climate and absence of greenery in nations that do not serve Him!
China’s desert is growing… Arab nations…desert.
“And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron. The LORD will change the rain of your land to powder and dust; from the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed.” Deuteronomy 28:23-24 NKJV.
2 “For the idols speak delusion; the diviners envision lies, and tell false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; they are in trouble because there is no shepherd.”
Indeed America is filled with eastern ways, yoga, tai-chi, martial arts, Islam, Hinduism, mixture in the church, eroding the Truth of God’s Word.
Diviners comfort in vain, like Hananiah did during Jeremiah’s time, saying things are going to be okay, while Jeremiah was warning them of the invasion.
And He says, People are like sheep, because there is no shepherd. True shepherds are hard to find these days. Lots of shepherds, but not many true shepherds with God’s heart for the people they are supposed to serve, as in Ezekiel 34.
“For You have forsaken Your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled with eastern ways; they are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they are pleased with the children of foreigners. Their land is also full of silver and gold, and there is no end to their treasures; their land is also full of horses, and there is no end to their chariots. Their land is also full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.” Isaiah 2:6-8 NKJV.
“My anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the goatherds. For The LORD of hosts will visit His flock, the house of Judah, and will make them as His royal horse in the battle.” Zechariah 10:3.
LORD of Hosts is used more than 50 times in Zechariah – One of the titles of our Supreme Commander. It says HE WILL VISIT HIS FLOCK, house of Judah [ Judah means praise – the worshippers of God] and will make them as HIS royal horse in battle. Hebrew says punish the GOATS. And it says: Will make them as His “goodly”horse in battle in the KJV… the word goodly is: OT:1935 doh howd (hode); from an unused root; grandeur (i.e. an imposing form and appearance): KJV – beauty, comeliness, excellency, glorious, glory, goodly, honour, majesty.
4 “From him comes the cornerstone,
The word here is… OT:6438 pinnah (pin-naw’); feminine of OT:6434; an angle; by implication, a pinnacle; figuratively, a chieftain: KJV – bulwark, chief, corner, stay, tower.
The Cornerstone is JESUS, Who is our Source of everything, thus…
4 cont’d “From him the tent peg,”
[ with which to kill the enemy like Jael did ]
“But Jael, Heber’s wife, picked up a tent peg and a hammer and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep, exhausted.” Judges 4:21.
She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died.
4 cont’d “From him the battle bow,”
“He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great. You enlarged my path under me, so my feet did not slip.” Psalm 18:34-35 NKJV.
4 cont’d “From him every ruler together.”
The word here for ruler is really: OPPRESSOR : OT:5065 nagas (naw-gas’); a primitive root; to drive (an animal, a workman, a debtor, an army); by implication, to tax, harass, tyrannize: KJV – distress, driver, exact (-or), oppress (-or), X raiser of taxes, taskmaster.
Now in context this means He makes us like the oppressor to the enemy!
Because look what comes next… speaking of Judah [– the worshippers – remembering that in Acts 15 it speaks that He will once against raise up the tabernacle of David.
So like Psalm 149… our praise, our worship will be our greatest weapon destroying the plans of the enemy!]
“Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute on them the written judgment — this honor have all His saints. Praise The LORD!” Psalm 149:5-9 NKJV.
5 “They shall be like mighty men, who tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle. They shall fight because The LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame.”
Some trust in chariots and some trust in horses but we will trust in the name of The LORD! Those who trust in horses are those who rely on their own strength! God is taking that all out of us, that we would no longer have any Self sufficient pride, trying to do it ourselves.
Sometimes we are so stubborn He must really destroy every bit of pride and UNBELIEF that He can and WILL come through for us.
6 “I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back, because I have mercy on them. They shall be as though I had not cast them aside; for I AM m The LORD their God, and I will hear them.”
Now this is the mercy of The LORD, for Joseph had a bit of a pride issue, in his immaturity, but by the time HE got through with Joseph, he was a different man. He had matured. And it says I WILL HEAR THEM.
Just last week in prophesying to someone I got, “Before they call, I will answer them”.
“It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24 NKJV.
7 “Those of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as if with wine. Yes, their children shall see it and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in The LORD.”
We will be FULL OF JOY and praise as if with wine…
“My heart within me is broken Because of the prophets; All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, Because of The LORD, and because of His holy words.” Jeremiah 23:9 NKJV.
“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.” Psalm 126:5 NKJV.
8 “I will whistle for them and gather them, for I will redeem them; and they shall increase as they once increased.”
GOD had promised to restore Israel, and He surely has increased them as they once increased, and as grafted into Israel, we also will increase.
Again as in the book of Acts… there will yet be a large HARVEST, albeit at a heavy cost.
9 “I will sow them among the peoples, and they shall remember Me in far countries; they shall live, together with their children, and they shall return.”
10 “I will also bring them back from the land of Egypt, and gather them from Assyria. I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon, until no more room is found for them.”
And if the worldly had their way, there would now be no more room for them anywhere.
Every decision the United Nations has made for many years has been anti-Israel, and our nation [The United States of America] is headed in the same direction, telling them they cannot build any more settlements in land that has belonged to them by Divine right.
11 “He shall pass through the sea with affliction, and strike the waves of the sea: all the depths of the River shall dry up. Then the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.”
Now obviously He is not afflicting the ocean, but He is speaking of the sea of peoples as referred to in Revelation, the sea represents often the masses of people.
He now makes a huge promise that the pride of Assyria, and the rulership of Egypt, [Egyptian ways spread throughout the world, it’s roots in free-masonry, and all the secret societies, influencing India and kundalini yoga, etc…thereby many other nations as Buddhism came out of India from all these ancient roots also ]
The vision Daniel interpreted of the kingdoms it says:
“And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.” Daniel 2:40-45 NKJV.
Mingle : H6147 : Strong’s Definitions: עָרַב ʻârab, aw-rab’; a primitive root; to braid, i.e. intermix; technically, to traffic (as if by barter); also or give to be security (as a kind of exchange): — engage, (inter-) meddle (with), mingle (self), mortgage, occupy, give pledges, be(-come, put in) surety, undertake. (Brown- Driver – Briggs lexicon)
Strong’s H6148: † II. עָרַב verb take on pledge, give in pledge, exchange (Late Hebrew go surety for (rare); Phoenician ערב surety; Old Aramaic ערבא pledge;
עֲרַב, Syriac, go surety for; usually identified with I. ערב — mix, exchange, pledge — but quite uncertain; compare BuhlLex LagBN 203); — Qal Perfect 3rd person masculine singular ע׳ Genesis 44:32 + 4 times; 2nd person masculine singular עָרַבְתָּ Proverbs 6:1; Imperfect 1st person singular suffix אֶעֶרְבֶנּוּ Genesis 43:9; Imperative עֲרֹב Psalm 119:122, suffix עָרְבֵנִי Isaiah 38:14, so Job 17:3 (but see below); Infinitive construct לַעֲרֹב Ezekiel 27:9; Participle עֹרֵב Proverbs 17:18, etc.; —
1. with accusative of person taken on pledge, i.e. go surety for the safety of, Genesis 43:9 (J), Genesis 44:32 (J; + מֵעִם person); for the debts of Proverbs 11:15; Proverbs 20:16; Proverbs 27:13; of God Isaiah 38:14 go surety for me, Psalm 119:122, so Job 17:3 (si vera lectio, see עֵרָבוֺן); accusative of person omitted, לְ ע׳ Proverbs 6:1 go surety to one (in behalf of another, || כַּפֶּ֑יךָ לַזָּר תָּקַע); with accusative of thing Proverbs 22:26 (|| תֹּקְעֵיכָֿ֑ף).
2. give in pledge, with accusative of thing Nehemiah 5:3 (i.e. mortgage), figurative אֶתלִֿבּוֺ ע׳ Jeremiah 30:21 so עֲרֻבָּה לִפְנֵי רֵעֵהוּ ע׳ Proverbs 17:18 (|| תֹּקֵעַ כָּ֑ף).
3. exchange (in trade), with accusative of congnate meaning with verb מָעֲרָבֵךְ Ezekiel 27:9, 27.
I added this all to show it doesn’t mean what some in The Church have implied.
Although we know that many in nations have mingled themselves with the serpent seed. But rather pledging to one another just as 160 nations it has been discovered agreed to the CV plan!
12 “So I will strengthen them in The LORD, and they shall walk up and down in His name, “Says The LORD.”
“But those who wait for The LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired. [Heb 12:1-3.]” Isaiah 40:31 AMP.
And…
From Matthew Henry’s commentary:
“They shall walk up and down in his name,” Zechariah 10:12.
– If God strengthen us, we must bestir ourselves, must walk up and down in all the duties of the Christian life, must be active and busy in the work of God, must walk up and down as industrious men do, losing no time, and letting slip no opportunity. But still we must walk up and down in the name of Christ, must do all by warrant from him and in dependence on him, with an eye to his word as our rule and his glory as our end. To us to live must be Christ;and, whatever we do in word or deed, we must do all in the name of The LORD Jesus, that we receive not the strengthening grace of God in vain. See Psalm 80:17,18.

God is now commissioning us as He has spoken to go forth and make disciples of all.
The hour is at hand for awakening. He will direct and guide us and have our back!
I highly recommend Derek Prince’s talk on YouTube, “Why This Interpretation Was Hidden – the 4 Horses of the Apocalypse – The White Horse.”
At about 43 min he speaks on passages from Revelation that are very important.

Brings me to Zechariah 13
A true prophet will suffer the same fate as false prophets, but afterwards, false shepherds will be escorted out.
