Your Rod and Your Staff, They Comfort Me
Psalm 23 is probably the most popular psalm in all of Scripture.
“THE LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want [i.e. I shall lack no good thing]. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside The Still Waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in The Paths of Righteousness For His NAME’s Sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your Rod and Your Staff, they comfort me. You prepare A Table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with Oil; My cup runs over. Surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in The House of THE LORD Forever.” Psalm 23:1-6.
On 14 August 2022, I had an encounter of great reverence and comfort in which THE LORD was ministering to me in sleep. I was repeatedly hearing deep in sleep (not a dream): “Your Rod and Your Staff, they comfort me.”
When I eventually woke up in the night, I knew satisfyingly that I had had a powerful visitation and ministry of comfort (help), revelation and instruction by THE LORD, “The Good Shepherd” — “That Great Shepherd of the sheep” “The Shepherd and Overseer of your souls” (John 10:11; Hebrews 13:20; 1 Peter 2:25).
After all the afflictions, trials and tribulations of the season now ending, JESUS CHRIST The Good Shepherd has now come with His Rod and His Staff to comfort us with the pampering treatment of the one lost sheep found, (Luke 15:1-6).
Therefore, make it a focus to pray often as led by THE HOLY SPIRIT.
“In JESUS’ NAME, LORD, Your Rod and Your Staff, they comfort me. I pray Your Rod and Your Staff to comfort me… I pray Your Rod and Your Staff to comfort me with miracles like Aaron’s rod that budded.
LORD, let Your Rod and Your Staff comfort me like the one lost sheep found.
JESUS CHRIST The Good Shepherd, comfort me like the one lost sheep found.
Thank You JESUS for Your AMAZING Love, Care and Comfort. Amen ”
The time was 00:57 when I woke up.
Strong’s Hebrew 57 is “abel” which means “mourning”. (NB. The word “abel” is different from the name of the fourth person who lived on earth).
This “abel” is a transliteration from abal: lamenting.
Thus, THE LORD is saying after all the mourning, it is now comfort time. It is now comfort season.
” “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your GOD. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from THE LORD’s Hand Double for all her sins.” The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare The Way of THE LORD; Make straight in the desert A Highway for our GOD. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; The Glory of THE LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For The Mouth of THE LORD has spoken.” O Zion, You who bring good tidings, Get up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, You who bring good tidings, Lift up your voice with strength, Lift it up, be not afraid; Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold your GOD!” Behold, THE LORD GOD shall come with a strong hand, And His Arm shall rule for Him; Behold, His Reward is with Him, And His Work before Him. He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His Arm, And carry them in His Bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.” Isaiah 40:1-5, 9-11.
“Blessed be THE GOD and FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE FATHER of Mercies and GOD of All Comfort, Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by GOD. For as The Sufferings of CHRIST abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through CHRIST. ” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5.
May The Good Shepherd comfort you exceedingly with His Great Goodness:
“Oh, how Great is Your Goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!” Psalm 31:19.
“They shall utter The Memory of Your Great Goodness, And shall sing of Your Righteousness.” Psalm 145:7.
May His Rod and His Staff comfort you with miracles like “Aaron’s rod that budded,” (Hebrews 9:4; Numbers 17:1-10).
May JESUS CHRIST The Good Shepherd give you joyful, comforting, pampering treatment of the one lost sheep found, (Luke 15:1-6).
“And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with THE WORD OF EXHORTATION, for I have written to you in few WORDS.” Hebrews 13:22.
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Addison Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of JESUS CHRIST by The Will of GOD, according to The Promise of Life Which is in CHRIST JESUS, (2 Timothy 1:1).
Like John, I like to put my head to The Heart of JESUS so as to know and do His Will always. What’s in His Heart is what matters now and FOREVER. His Heart’s Desire is my only desire. My will is to do His Will.
As John was, I am the disciple whom JESUS loves. And like Paul, I am “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
NB. Surely, the disciple whom JESUS loves and “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS”, like ALL The Promises of GOD, are available to every believer to obtain, just as John and Paul did.
“And having been perfected, He [JESUS] became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
I always look forward to reading your post.very inspiring and comforting . May God increase your annointing man of God
Great to wake up and read such a comforting word from the Lord. He uses His staff to guide us in the directions we should go and the rod to correct us when needed. When I’m hurt, He is my comforter and healer. The Lord is my “Shepard”. I feel truly blessed. Thank you Lord for watching over me.
Wow! Thank you brother Jacob, for giving clarity on this new season. Oh how I long to receive of His hand a miracle of His Great Goodness! I’m sure I’ll be extremely comforted.
I pray God’s blessings on your life my dear brother.
