You Need To Be Leaning On Jesus’ Breast Every Moment of Your Breath
The Holy Spirit made a very important point to note in Scripture, that John “was leaning on Jesus’ Bosom”, he “leaned on His Breast at The Supper”, and went “leaning back on Jesus’ Breast”, (John 13:21-26; 21:20).
The Spirit of God is instructing us to do the same now, at His Table, (Luke 22:30; Isaiah 25:6).
“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope,” Romans 15:4.
By leaning on Jesus’ Breast, John was so close to His Heart that, as Peter recognised, only he (John) could find out the top Divine Secret of who was to betray The LORD.
And so Peter motioned to John to ask The LORD. John did ask; and The LORD graciously revealed it to them.
(I imagine John raised up his upper body from leaning in The LORD’ Bosom, asked Him the burning question, and then went right “leaning BACK on Jesus’ Breast”!).
No matter the situation, no matter what or who engages your attention, no matter what assignment you undertake, like John, we must go right “leaning BACK on Jesus’ Breast”!
For that’s where the unspeakable joy of The Christian Life is. That’s where the deep things of God exist and are revealed.
Do you know that it was the same John to whom, subsequently, Jesus Christ delivered His amazing revelations as detailed in The Book of Revelation?
“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants — things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,” Revelation 1:1.
John never stopped leaning on Jesus’ Breast even after The LORD had gone back to Heaven.
As such, he (John) got the download of some of the most important revelations of the deep things of God ever given to mankind.
Leaning on Jesus’ Breast is to watch for Him and receive His very best every moment of our breath.
Habakkuk the prophet put it aptly,
“I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected,” Habakkuk 2:1.
When The LORD was giving me this revelation, The Holy Spirit moved me to compose and sing to Jesus a cute song:
Verse:
I put my head in Your Bosom, Jesus
I put my head in Your Bosom like John
So I can love what You love
So I can do what You want
Chorus:
Oh LORD let me know Your Will
Oh LORD let me do Your Will
So I can love what You love
So I can do what You want
This is a song from the heart; a DESPERATE prayer from my heart to my LORD.
You see, those who live leaning in The Bosom of The LORD, receive and know the deep things of The LORD.
Jesus’ Breast/ Bosom is The Secret Place of The Most High. That’s where we must dwell, always. He reveals deep and secret things to those who dwell there, to those who fear Him.
To be leaning in Jesus’ Bosom is to be close to His Heart. It is to put all your mind, all your thinking at The Heart of The LORD. It is to know what’s on His Heart (for you to think, to say, to do, whenever, wherever).
Our LORD Jesus Christ is The Greater-than-Solomon here, (Matthew 12:42). He IS The Wisdom of God, and ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him, (1 Corinthians 1:24,30; Colossians 2:3).
Therefore, be leaning on His Bosom always “so that times of refreshing may come from The Presence of The LORD,” (Acts 3:19).
By “leaning on Jesus’ Breast”, you will always know what’s on His Heart; yes, you will know what His Understanding is, what His Heart’s desire is regarding anything and everything.
By leaning on Jesus’ Breast, you will have The Mind of Christ, (1 Corinthians 2:16).
It is also highly crucial to note that John was leaning on Jesus’ Breast at The Last Supper, The Passover Celebration of His Body and Blood, (John 13:1-4; 25-28; 21:20).
Thus, furthermore and very importantly, to be leaning on Jesus’ Breast is to be in Communion with Him — up close and personal. It is to have The Communion of His Blood, The Communion of His Body, (1 Corinthians 10:16).
Live life leaning in Jesus’ Bosom. Do so as you, by faith, eat His Flesh and drink His Blood — by The Communion, (Matthew 26:26-28; John 6:48-58; 13:21-26; 21:20; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17).
Indeed, do so by applying, pleading, praying The PRECIOUS Blood of Christ.
Feed on Jesus by putting all faith in Him, His Blood, His Word, His Love, His Mercy and His Power.
Put your thinking to His Heart.
“Trust in The LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths,” Proverbs 3:5-6.
Finally, by “leaning on Jesus’ Bosom” at The Supper, John was resting on The LORD, resting in Him, at His Table — which is The LORD’s love and largesse, provision, (Luke 22:30; Isaiah 25:6).
This is symbolic and instructive to us to rest on The LORD, to rest in Him, “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7).
The LORD Jesus Christ Himself said:
“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29.
My beloved brethren, let us seek The LORD: His rest and “resting place.” (Hebrews 4:1-11; Jeremiah 50:6).
“Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it…..
…… For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ”although the works were finished from the foundation of the world….
……. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience,” Hebrews 4:1,3,9-11.
“When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.” Then the disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom He spoke.
Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke.
Then, leaning back on Jesus’ breast, he said to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
Jesus answered, “It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it.” And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon…..
……. Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?”” John 13:21-26; 21:20.
“The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here,” Matthew 12:42.
“…but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God…..
…… But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption……” 1 Corinthians 1:24,30.
“… in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge,” Colossians 2:3.
“Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.
And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself……
….. Then, leaning back on Jesus’ breast, he said to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
Jesus answered, “It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it.” And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.” But no one at the table knew for what reason He said this to him……..
……. Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?”” John 13:1-4; 25-28; 21:20.
“The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the [a]communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?” 1 Corinthians 10:16.
“And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins,” Matthew 26:26-28.
“I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”
Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is [a]food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven — not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever……..
…….. When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.” Then the disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom He spoke.

“The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread,” 1 Corinthians 10:16-17.
“.…that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel,” Luke 22:30.
“And in this mountain The Lord of hosts will make for all people, a feast of choice pieces, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of well-refined wines on the lees,” Isaiah 25:6.
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of Jesus Christ by The Will of God, according to The Promise of Life which is in Christ Jesus, (2 Timothy 1:1). As John was, Jacob is the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20). And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
