You Cannot Curse What God Has Blessed!
Balaam’s seven prophecies were seven blessings on God’s people; it was God’s enemies who were cursed.
You Cannot Curse What God Has Blessed!
As I was meditating upon God’s Word, I began to ponder upon why so many people are doing all that they can to curse God’s people, just as Balak, was who despised the Children of Israel because they multiplied and he became fearful of what he did not understand!
You see, the children of Israel who on their way to Canaan had moved in on his territory. So, Balak sent to Balaam, who lived in Mesopotamia along the Euphrates River (Numbers 22:5), and asked him to curse Israel in exchange for a reward.
The LORD began to show me how, when people who are ungodly don’t understand what God is doing in their lives, they will fight what they fear! Especially; those who are religious and walk in a superficial relationship with God!
Balak couldn’t see past his own prejudices and so he had in his mind that the children of Israel were multiplying to take over his territory, when in fact the reason for their multiplication was because God had favored them!
When God has favor on your life, nobody can remove you, nobody can stop you from prospering not even your enemies!
No matter how much money Balak had, He couldn’t stop God’s favor upon the LORD’s people.
He tried over and over again to get Baalam to curse these people! He even went so far as to offer him a reward but still God said, “No!”
Isn’t it ironic how people who hate you will set up traps to stop you from prospering; even those who claim to be one of God’s chosen people?
But it will not work! No weapon formed will prosper against those that God has chosen unless God himself says so!
If God doesn’t move the hedge of protection from around you, the enemy can huff and puff but he cannot blow your house down!
Why? Because, it has been built upon a solid foundation! Unstoppable: unmovable, and unshakable!
Glory be to God!
“And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon Baalam. And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open (to see in the spiritual realm) hath said: He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance , but having his eyes open: How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel! As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river’s side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the water. He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed {shall be} in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows. He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? My God! Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times. Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the LORD hath kept thee back from honour.
The promotions of Satan are not worth what God has in store for his people: some gifts you need to return when it means going up against the LORD and his plans!
And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD , to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak.” Numbers 24:1-13 KJV.
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another, (Psalms 75:6-7).
