You Can Trust God Has Good Plans for You!
Wondering if God really does have an amazing plan for your life?
Sometimes when the hard times hit, we can forget that God has good plans for us! When I need encouragement, I like to remember one of my favorite Bible verses:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV.
This is one of those Bible verses we’ve heard a lot, so sometimes we miss the power of the message because it’s so familiar. But we can move beyond the surface of this Bible verse and discover a deeper meaning.
There are 4 different assurances of God’s goodness stated in Jeremiah 29:11. Let’s uncover them together.
God has a plan for your life
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord …
First, God has plans for your life, and He knows exactly what they are!
Many times, we get discouraged and start wondering what God is doing. We may even find ourselves asking God why certain things are happening and if there is a purpose to it all.
But God has a plan, and He know exactly what it is. You can trust that He is keeping you and your needs top-of-mind.
God’s plan is to prosper you
“… plans to prosper you …”
Not only does God have a plan for you, but His plan is to prosper you! Other words for prosper include flourish, thrive, blossom, progress. Wow! Isn’t that powerful?
This means God is counting on you doing well, and He wants to see you not only survive in life — but thrive!
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,” Ephesians 3:20 NIV.
God wants to give you more than you could ever imagine!
God’s plan is not to harm you
“… and not to harm you …”
God isn’t trying to make your life difficult. He is not out to harm you, and He certainly doesn’t want you to fail.
No matter what you’re going through right now, it’s safe to believe that God is going to work it all out for your good!
God’s plan is to give you hope
“… plans to give you hope …”
God promises to give us great hope!
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit,” Romans 15:13 NIV.
God desires to fill us with confidence that what’s coming is good! He wants us to see the future through the eyes of hope.
God’s plan is to give you a future
“… and a future.”
You have a future — you can count on it!
God has not brought you this far to turn His back on you now. Enter into perfect peace today and rest in the fact that God is planning a great future for you!
God’s plans for you are ultimately good
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world,” John 16:33 NIV.
Sometimes, life feels anything but smooth and stable.
But God knows what He’s doing. He has an ultimate plan for your good, even though you might go through some hard times. Plus, His plan is for you to thrive so you can have hope for your future.
Whatever life may bring your way, God will give you the tools you need to overcome it so you can enter into the good future He has for you!
Watch for God to reveal the good in your current situation.
