You Are About to Die but You Going to Rise Up in Both Power & Authority!
As I was meditating upon The LORD, he begin to speak to me about the death of the flesh.
He begin to speak to me how that we as individuals cannot arise to our full potential until flesh has completely died.
He begin to speak to me about the anointing and how this anointing is only prepared for those who have completely sold out and surrendered totally to The LORD.
The woman who owned this alabaster box was no doubt saving it for a special occasion, because it was of great price to the one whom it was prepared for!
The Greek word translated “alabaster box” in the KJV, as well as “flask,” “jar” and “vial” in other translations, is alabastron, which can also mean “perfume vase.”
You can see why the person who made this box took great pride in their workmanship to make it and to fix it, so that whatever was placed on the inside of it would be sealed until the day the seal would be broken.
This event occurred in Bethany just days before the crucifixion, which is why Mary came to anoint Jesus for the event to come.
“She poured perfume on His body beforehand to prepare Him for His burial,” Mark 14:8.
Just as God does those whom He calls and preserves to anoint as king or queen to stand before His people!
This woman no doubt evaluated Jesus’ life and had been following Him for a very long time before making the decision to pour this expensive oil upon Christ!
You see, the Alabaster was a stone commonly found in Israel. It was a hard stone resembling white marble and is referred to as one of the precious stones used in the decoration of Solomon’s Temple (1 Chronicles 29:2).
The LORD spoke to me that you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow Citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in The LORD, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:19-22)
Meaning, those God is calling out in this season to His death, burial and resurrection will have been preserved, chosen and sealed for His good purposes to do a work for Him, and this oil will not be smeared upon unworthy vessels, but for those whom it will have been tried, tested and proven in the fire as Christ was before this woman humbled herself to take it to smear it upon the body of Christ!
Notice, It was not smeared until Christ was deemed ready to die the ultimate death!
When an individual dies, if the body is not prepared it will smell something horribly. This is why it must be prepared to preserve it!
God in this season is preparing His people for the dying of their flesh! To totally surrender and to sell out to him before the Church can arise in total authority and power!
Just like Christ’s body was being prepared this ointment, oils and perfumes were used to be put in vessels made of alabaster, which kept them pure and unspoiled.
The boxes were often sealed or made fast with wax, to prevent the perfume from escaping as we stated earlier.
When Mary broke open her alabaster box, “the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume” (John 12:3). Alabaster was a strong enough substance to keep the oil or perfume completely contained until the time of its use.
God in this season is preserving those chosen for a special time and a special occasion for all that are in the house to admire.
He is saving your sweet fragrance and scent as He preserves you to do a work for Him in this season!
Nobody, and I mean nobody, buys a perfume to keep it to themselves, but they buy it and save the best stuff for last, because it is the best perfume in the house!
It may seem as though you have been put up on the shelf and forgotten about but God has been preserving you last to save many lives as He did Christ when he was hung high and stretched wide for all the Nations that had rejected Him!
He became a sweet smelling Savior as the Chief Cornerstone and so will you!!
Notice the scripture said, “But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, (anger, outraged and or resentful) saying, ‘To what purpose is this waste?’
For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. But, when Jesus understood it, he said unto them, “Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon Me. For ye have the poor always with you; but Me ye have not always.”
People, The LORD said to me the carnal minded and those who are religious will bring up your past, they will speak against your anointing because like the disciples they don’t feel you should be the one God is exalting in this season and they will feel The LORD should have chosen somebody else more prominent, because He is wasting good oil on an unworthy vessel, but when God raises you up you must be like Christ and know that the anointing God has placed upon your life He has proved you worthy and that is all that counts and not what people are saying about you!
Jesus spoke up and said that the poor you will always have with you but what He was coming to do was going to bring even the poor out of captivity! GLORY TO GOD!
The Anointing at Bethany
“And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table. But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”
But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me. For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always. For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My burial,”” Matthew 26:6-12.
