Working towards a Victorious Life
Hidden Truth: most of us want to get born again and just make Jesus an addition to our worldly addictions.
IF we were full of sexual lust, we want to continue as long as its in secret and we can say a quick prayer of, “Sorry, God – I did it again.”
IF we were angry, we want to just continue living angry and screaming at everyone then apologizing but doing the same each time we are provoked.
IF we were fornicating, we want to continue doing it secretly, but afterwards, plead the blood of Jesus.
IF addicted to porn, we want to secretly watch, it but afterwards, plead the blood.
IF we were lying to the boss every Monday morning… we want to continue.
IF we were lazy… we want to continue.
IF we were overeating … we want to continue and pray against obesity.
IF we were stubborn and unteachable… we want to continue.
IF we could never keep time… we want to continue.
IF we were over-watching movies… we want to continue but find a small window to read the Word.
IF we were gossipers… we want to continue but claim its revelation.
If we were champion malingerers and slanderers… we want to continue, but argue that, “God showed me.”
IF we over-depended on others to survive… we want to continue.
IF we were never good at keeping promises, we want to continue.
IF we were champions at spending more than we can earn and borrowing what we cannot pay, we want to continue.
IF we never saved in the past, we want to continue, because the world is coming to an end anyway….
IF we were shopaholics, alcoholics or sexaholics, we want to continue because we just can’t stop ourselves.
Some even want to continue visiting witches and sorcerer, palm readers, channelers, psychics and mediums and defend the actions by saying,”His Grace is sufficient”. The only way the Grace is sufficient is when we have realized that we came to Christ for Him to break us free from all our addictions, our bad habits, and all those things that gratify the flesh. But if we are COMFORTABLE living in them and with them, we are far from the GRACE.
It is time to be honest with yourself by taking a good, deep look into the mirror, just to examine yourself, the way you are. Then after you see how you are, become uncomfortable with what you find ugly.
I doubt that it is possible to see that your teeth are covered in green, brown and yellow food residue from your last meal and yet you still go out to meet your spouse to be on a date.
The only way your life can start changing, and the only route to a victorious life, is by becoming uncomfortable with yourself, because you know that you are better than what you see on that mirror.
We cannot do this by our own will power. That is why we have the Holy Spirit. Every born-again believer has the Holy Spirit living in them, because He was given to us a a seal, a witness, a pledge.
The only thing that most people don’t know how to do, is to work with the Holy Spirit towards a victorious life.
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,” Ephesians 1:13.
“Who also hath sealed us, and given the pledge of the Spirit in our hearts,” 2 Corinthians 1:22.
The minute a believer begins to surrender everything about themselves, their lives and especially their weaknesses to GOD, the Holy Spirit will HELP US OUT to make us be the best that we can be in this life.
Am I exempt? No. I am a work of the Almighty God through the Holy Spirit.
I have made Him my closest friend, who teaches me ALL THINGS, and who makes me see myself as I am . That is what makes my life easier, everyday.
I have accepted that I am so unworthy, so human and so full of human weakness, but that does not make me comfortable at all. Through the Holy Spirit, I have been freed from worldly addictions, emotional weaknesses, and bad habits.
I know that am on a journey to become less of an earth-man and more of a spirit-man, but I know I cannot live without the Holy Spirit, because that’s as good as being dead.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you,” John 14:26.
They are many things that you deliver yourself from by just co-operating with the Holy Spirit.
You have to be honest now ,and reflect on what God is saying to you. Then after you can cry to Him for help, because then the GRACE will be truly sufficient.
Shalom,
