Word Patterns — Hope
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.” Psalm 1:2-4.
As we confess and make declarations from God’s Word — we do not look forward to failure or disastrous outcomes.
Hope shawls itself in the word of God. Operating in Hope is like trying to take one lick of an ice cream cone. I know very few people who will stop at one lick.
Hope is better than ice cream, going to the movies, or a first date. All of these things begin with the essence of hope — then the “Hope Journey” starts.
We must put wheels on Hope, earmarked to only function through The Word of God. Hope always runs into Truth.
In My hope, I can prophetically speak for God, because I am only declaring what He has already spoken.
Hope is a unique responsibility for Christians.
When we refuse to apply hope to God’s Instructions, it creates open doors for Satan.
“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.” Proverbs 13:12-13.
Hope is a continual Christian assignment. We Hope over and over again.
Hope does not bore The LORD. In reality, He looks forward to seeing our progress in Hope as it increases our Faith.
Having a delight in The Law of The LORD equates to Believers putting on a smile — as we dress ourselves in the whole Armor of God.
God designed Hope as a cloak for us to adorn outwardly.
While this garment keeps us spotless before sin — it functions inside is to keep our sanctification polished and pure.
Hoping in God’s Word helps Christians to maintain a willingness to follow every instruction of The LORD and prompting of The Holy Spirit.
When we pray or confess God’s word, we “Hope” the enemy will not stop us from receiving The LORD’s protection, promises, and favor.
“Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:22-23.
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7.
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” Isaiah 1:19-20.
“For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. 8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; 9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.” Job 14:7-9.
“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.” Psalm 31:24.
“Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.” Psalm 33:22.
“Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt. 14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.” Psalm 71:13-16.
