There Won’t Need to Be Border Crossings Into the Eternal City,
but Only a Clean Heart That Believes…

 

“And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it,” Revelation 21:24-26.

Our borders have been crossed as the separation of children has wrought much dismay, confusion, and dissent.

Much has been said about this lately as children have now been separated from their parents and other adults, when attempting to cross over into our land.

Borders need to be protected, and yet we have been known throughout our history as a land that would allow the oppressed and others who sought refuge to come in.

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”**

We are a nation of laws and yet oftentimes those laws go against what is humane and just for the foreigner as well as even for our own citizens.

There are many rules and regulations and endless paperwork involved in becoming a citizen of the United States. And certainly there are two sides to every story, and each person has their own account of what is right and just.

But when we leave this earth to enter into the New Jerusalem, it won’t be a matter of border crossings and illegal aliens finding their way to the massive gates of the everlasting city.

However, there are still requirements for entering into that city of the King. One must first of all believe in Him and know indeed, that the Son of God is the only One to be worshipped and that He alone is King.

Tunnels and rivers won’t have to be crossed in order to enter in. The arid deserts of Mexico won’t have to be traversed to come either.

A particular card stating citizenship won’t be necessary, except that one’s name must be written down in the Lamb’s book of life.

We are told that; “neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God,” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

But it goes even deeper than the characteristics that have already been stated here. For you see, some practice righteous acts upon this earth hoping to be seen by men.

And yet even those who prophesy and say that they have done so many good deeds, will find themselves unable to enter in through those gates.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” Matthew 7:21-23.

You see, it isn’t the outward signs and appearances of what some of us have done or are doing that Jesus looks upon to enter into His kingdom.

Rather, He looks upon the inner man and those things of the heart. And I would say that He has looked upon the hearts of many of those who have wanted to enter into our land, but were separated and not allowed to pass through, except for finding a dirty jail cell or shackles instead of being welcomed.

He knows the hearts of the innocents and He also knows of those whose motives are corrupt and evil.

Indeed, there are some who come for the wrong reasons and are corrupt, and yet there are many others whose intentions are pure.

But on that day we can be assured that there will be countless rooms and provisions given for our arrival.

Government programs that fall short of taking care of these things will no longer be needed.

For true justice and wisdom will flow from the mountain of God and night will no longer be seen in it.

A child will live out his days, and the sound of weeping will no longer be heard throughout the city.

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord,” Isaiah 65:17-25.
