The world famous artist and sculptor Michelangelo once said that in every block of stone is a statue, and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.

It will take a vision of what is in each piece of stone then, to be able to sculpt it.

One must have the ability to look at the stone and see something in it… and if you see only the stone, it is stone cold. Nothing seen will not inspire one to sculpt.

Having been a stone sculptor in my life, I can truly understand, it is true! If I cannot see that which lives inside the stone — I have found it impossible to get it out.

I have demonstrated this in public places [while demonstrating stone sculpting by placing a based stone to stand upright on the work table — then I ask each person who comes by to tell me what they see in the stone.]

Many have looked and said: “I see only the stone!” Then I say back, “Then you cannot sculpt! But anyone can sculpt if they see a Vision of that which is in the stone!”

But, when someone else who is ask the same question, “What do you see in the stone?” answers oh, yes, “I see it! It’s an __________!” Then I say to them, “You can sculpt — it because you see it.”

So how important is it to see a Vision?

The Scriptures say in Proverbs 29:18a,: “Where there is no vision, the people perish!”

The fact is a no vision will lead many to perish forever!

Jesus said this,

“Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” John 4:35.

But if one does not see — or have a Vision of lost souls — then those souls will perish!

Again the scripture says:

“For whosoever shall call upon The Name of The LORD shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach The Gospel of Peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed The Gospel. For Isaiah saith, “Lord, who hath believed our report?”” Romans 10:13-16.

Salvation will not happen until a preacher brings the Vision Message which reveals Jesus Christ the Savior.

If there is no preacher with The Message and The Vision to preach it, then the world of the lost will continue without Hope!

But if.. a preacher has a Vision of lost souls and has seen a Vision of The Power of The Cross [The Message of Salvation in Jesus Christ and His work to save men from sin] then there will be Salvation!

The sinner will be awakened by the one who has The Vision of The Redeemer!

So, may I ask you then, how important is a Vision?

The coming of the end time days and the great and terrible day of The LORD explains why that the scripture says in Acts 2,

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: and on My Servants and on My Handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit; and they shall prophesy: and I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of The LORD come: and it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of The LORD shall be saved.” Acts 2:17-21.

The vision gift of The Holy Spirit then, will produce a quickening of the preaching of The Gospel so that many will be saved.

So even as a stone sculptor cannot sculpt without a Vision of the work, so also the preacher, with no vision of the work.

Many do not preach the urgency of The Gospel Message, because they have never seen the powerful Cross upon which Jesus died.

They have never seen why Jesus died, and they then have the wrong message, which is not other message, because the only effectual message is a clear Power of God through The Gospel Message.

But they look and see the sinners, but see no remedy to their condition.

Preachers who see nothing but religion, are barren of fruit. The fruit comes only from a good tree, and so eternal fruit comes only from the eternal tree…. “The Cross of Jesus Christ” and the one and only savior dying for sinners to be saved.

So, what good is preaching without a vision?

The answer is: Nothing! Even as a hole in a donut is nothing.

It is vain and worthless and of no real substance. It will fall to the ground and accomplish nothing and be as sounding brass and tinkling symbols.
