With Our Heart We See The Kingdom
With our heart we see The Kingdom!
Paul prayed that capability would would be in the hearts of the Ephesians and us.
We see The Kingdom because we have confessed with our mouth and believed in our heart Jesus is LORD.
But what does it say?
“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart;” that is, the word of faith which we proclaim: that if you will confess with your mouth that Yeshua is LORD and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” Romans 10:8-11.
Paul taught what the spiritual blessing are and prayed they would be in our hearts.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Messiah, …” Ephesians 1:3.
The Spirit is the guarantee [the first installment, the pledge, a foretaste] of our inheritance until the redemption of God’s own [purchased] possession [His believers], to the praise of His glory.
For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers; [I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son].
And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people), and [so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe.” Ephesians 1:14-19 AMP
By The Holy Spirit, the eyes of our hearts are enlightened and we see The Kingdom. (John 14:16-17; 15:26; 16:7-11; 16:13; Acts 19:1-6)
The eye is the instrument by which we see; and in like manner the understanding is that by which we perceive truth. (©Barnes)
We know what is the hope of his calling. God has called us into His Kingdom and Glory. (1 Thessalonians 2:12; Colossians 3:15; 2 Peter 1:3)
We know what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in us. The “inheritance” is eternal life. (John 10:28; 17:2-3; 1 John 5:13; 5:20; Romans 8:17)
We know what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe. (John 1:12; 5:13; 17:2-3; Colossians 1:13-14; Romans 1:16; 16:25)
