Wisdom, Understanding & The Fear of The LORD!
Lets Get it!
In today’s world, everything seems so complicated at times. There are heavy burdens on people everywhere!
What do we do about this? What do we do about that?
So let’s stop and look at the big picture first before we go any further.
This is what we should do if we need wisdom on any matter:
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. ” James 1:5-6
That’s the promise unequivocally, we can all receive. God grants that wisdom if we only ask in ‘Faith’.
When we get Godly wisdom we then need to apply it right in any given situation.
“Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.” Proverbs 3:13
If we want to learn wisdom we can surely learn from the wisest man ever been, which we all know is Solomon.
Read his books and soak in the Wisdom God gave him. He also wrote 3,000 Proverbs and 1,005 songs.
Can we even imagine?
Yet, we wonder as God gave him all that wisdom how could he have went astray like he did at the end?
He chose wrong!
All the wisdom God grants to us is wonderful. Still when we get wisdom we must apply understanding and balance things out.
“And unto man he said, Behold, The Fear of The LORD, that is Wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” Job 28:28
Surely it was evil for Solomon to go after strange women. He entered into idolatry and it took his heart.
“For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with The LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.” 1 Kings 11:4
The true Fear of The LORD is key, to keep us going right! That is a reverential respect that we don’t want to displease Him.
That is where Solomon missed it and we can also if we are not careful.
‘Idolatry’ is serious business. Anything we put before The LORD is an idol.
This is an article I wrote before which just may tie in here.
Wisdom and Knowledge — Equals Great Stability & Strength in Him
It is always wise to sit in The LORD’s Presence and be still at times. We have to know HE is God!
The LORD still speaks in that still small voice many times.
He also speaks through His Holy Word at all times!
“Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4: 5-7
Also, we should only listen to counsel from Godly wise people. There is a worldly wisdom which we should desire to stay away from.
“The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.” Ecclesiastes 12:11
Here are more scriptures to sum up today:
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
God bless each and every one of you. He loves you and I so very much!
