Why you can’t cut off Goliath’s head
The removal of Goliath’s head signifies finality. When the head is removed from the body, it will never be a threat again. The reason so many are not completely delivered from soul threatening habits and addictions is they never learned to use a slingshot first. The slingshot represents total commitment to accomplish a goal. In the natural David’s sling was no match for Goliath’s spear and shield. But in the spiritual, David’s commitment to do what ever it took to take out the enemy of My people, transformed his sling into the mightiest weapon of war.
David could never have cut off Goliath’s head without first knocking him out with a slingshot. You can finish off a demonic stronghold in your life, but only if you make the commitment to do what ever it takes, to take out, the enemy of your soul. I’ll try will never do! I am going to try, is not enough! You must have a driving, “if I die I die”, type of passion, to be set free, knowing that only in My name can you accomplish this thing. Hanging around old friends that are in Goliath’s camp will always defeat you.
Standing up to fearful friends and family who say once a addict always an addict is a must! Even kings and authorities must be ignored, in these times of desperation. This is the time of you and Me against the world. David was the only man on earth, with a heart to take out the enemy that bound his world. You must know how to use the sling of My Spirit, and hurl My name, with the accuracy of My word, to bring your Goliath down. Then with the sword of the Spirit, sever his head, separating yourself from all the old familiar friends and places that Goliath lived. 1 Samuel 17:1-51.
