Why Pruning is a Good Thing for Us Right Now
The Wind of Change is starting to blow through our lives and will continue through May.
It is revealing things we will need to change and clean up to get us into the new season coming. Don’t be discouraged during this process.
Been there, done that?
Many people will be tempted to not recognize the season we are in — that God is continuing to do a deeper pruning time in our lives. It is important not to miss this opportunity to grow and go. You will need this to position yourself for the coming breakthrough.
As God matures you spiritually and we go deeper in the LORD, what was dead in one season might still have small roots or tentacles alive deeper down. So don’t be surprised or discouraged if you find yourself having to repeat some deeper cleansing in your life.
John 15 time of pruning
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” John 15:1–4 NIV.
The result of this deeper cleansing time will be more clarity to you and it will bring you into a deeper relationship with God. Belief systems and older ways of doing things that are no longer effective are being revealed and cut away.
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you,” John 15:7 NIV.
This time of pruning will also result in giving you greater spiritual authority in prayer. There is a change coming in which you will start seeing faster answers to the things you ask for. This is because you will start understanding God’s heart and ways and know His timing.
“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:11–12 NIV.
God is bringing this brief season of pruning and cleansing to allow you to grow in love and joy. This is the fruit that is going to grow in the places where the old things were previously cut away.
Get ready to walk through a doorway for your advancement that is labeled “John 15.” Deeper cleansing in our lives is never a onetime event. God is taking you deeper in this season, but it will require letting go of the old.
It is going to be fun and fruitful!
Blessings,
