WHY PRAY? Lesson #2 is a pre-prayer meeting teaching

REVELATION 5:1-8

“And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice. Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David hath prevailed to oopen the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, stood a LAMB AS IT HAD BEEN SLAIN, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth to all the earth.
And he came and took the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne.
And when HE had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them HARPS, and GOLDEN VIALS FULL OF ODORS, WHICH ARE THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS.

THIS WORD CAME TO ME:

MENEKESHE OH MASHA KEME DO SHA LAKA MOSHA PONEY NOSHA LA KAWA MEME DO. LATOWA KA ISHE MOLAKA ONA MEKA SHE ONA PA YA. MA NA MA NA KEME SHOLAKA OSHA.

THE INTERPRETATION:

Thus saith the Lord, I WILL WALK FORTH AND MOVE TO OPEN UP THE JUST JUDGMENTS UPON THOSE WHO KNOW ME AS THE LAMB SLAIN AND RISEN. I MOVE UPON THOSE WHO BOTH PRAISE ME AND HAVE PRAYED PRAYERS, BECAUSE THEY HAVE COME UP BEFORE ME AS A BEAUTIFUL ODOUR AND I AM DRAWN TO IT AS A BEE TO THE FLOWER. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR PRAYERS AND THEY WILL BE ANSWERED.

The Lord is speaking to me about the IMPORTANCE of the PRAYERS of the Saints. Notice that the above verses lead up to something that STANDS OUT… They were looking for ONE WHO IS WORTHY to open the Book of Judgment (Revelation) and to begin this judgement upon the earth. Of course we know that Jesus Christ is the only One Worthy. He is worthy because He has overcome death and sin by giving himself a Lamb in sacrifice for our sins. The wages of Sin is death so, since Jesus DIED FOR OUR SINS He has become the WORTHY ONE. Not only did He die, but it needs to be pointed out SIN COULD NOT HOLD HIM IN THE GRAVE. He did WALK OUT VICTORIOUS OVER DEATH and SIN. Sin did put him there in the first place; our sin which He took freely. He has BOTH DIED AND RAISED FROM DEATH. He has brought the VICTORY FOREVER for those who RECEIVE HIM. He alone is worthy.

Now, notice those who FELL DOWN IN WORSHIP this One who was found WORTHY.

HARPS AND VIALS OF WONDERFUL ODOUR PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS. (smells appealing to the sences). It is noteworthy to see that at the day Jesus opened the Book of Revelation, to begin to redeem through judgements, these ingredients were there.

#1. PRAISE … The harps speak of the Praise of the Saints. It is this praise that brings the Lord, because of the beautiful ODOUR OF PRAISE. You can not overlook that PRAISE IS PRAYER IN THE SPIRIT. When we begin to PRAISE GOD… WE ARE PRAYER-PRAISE BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD. It comes up before the Throne and He who sits upon it in a MOST WONDERFUL AROMA. THE SMELL IS INTOXICATING. It is most powerful to draw His attention to those who OFER IT. Oh, that men would Praise the Lord. Oh, that men would PRAY. This is the very fabric that makes up the Holy Atmosphere of the area around the Throne. When Ezekiel say the Glory of the Lord he saw four living Creatures having four faces and many wings flying, CONSTANTLY, before the Throne and they were crying out, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY …. and I can see it too… as the many others who stood around that throne, thousands of Angels and the redeemed of the Ages all stood PRAISING GOD ALMIGHTY WHO SITS UPON THE ETERNAL THRONE.

It is therefore IMPORTANT TO KNOW… that PRAISE IS A ODOUR MOST SWEET… AND WE ENTER INTO HIS VERY PRESENCE WITH PRAISE. He inhabits such Praise and comes to INVESTIGATE such with all Expectancy.

Prayer creates the atmosphere for miracles, because the Miracle Worker is attacted to the Praise and when He shows up… things happen.

#2. VIALS OF PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS. The Vials (bottles) contained the thousands if not Millions of Prayers spoken to the Lord. He has thought so much of them that He has BOTTLED THEM AND KEPT THEM IN SAFE KEEPING. They are such a sweet and wonderful Savior and the Odour is pleasing He certainly does not want to get too far from them. He hordes them and keeps them; to smell their fragrance and to remember each with special love.

I say unto you who are reading that may think your prayers are going unheard…. HE DOES HEAR AND EVEN SAVES THEM. He is most attentive to EVERY PRAYER, no matter who said it OR HOW THEY WORDED IT. He longs for those love letters and words. I remind you that IF HE DOES SAVE THEM ….. HE DOES ANSWER THEM. This is exactly why he brought them to the JUDGMENTS. He finally and MOST COMPLETELY ANSWER THEM ALL.

Let me share my testimony of answed prayer. In about 1974 while pastor of a church near Dallas Texas, I was most urgently praying a paticular prayer. I so much wanted and Longed to have an intimate relationship with the Lord that would lead Him to JUST TELL ME OUTRIGHT WHAT HE WANTED ME TO DO. I had read over and over again the stories of the great prophets such as Jeremiah, Elijah and Moses, etc. I thought to myself, The reason I make so many mistakes is because I HAVE NEVER HEARD HIM SPEAK DIRECTELY TO ME WHAT HE WANTS ME TO KNOW… Lord, you spoke to them.. The word says… “AND THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME UNTO __________”. Well if you would just tell me outright, than there would be no mistakes. WHY DO YOU NOT SPEAK TO ME. LORD… PLEASE JUST LET ME BE LIKE JEREMIAH, ELIJAH OR EVEN MOSES SO I CAN DO EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO?

Well you must know, I did not feel that prayer answered; I did not hear any thundering voice saying… THUS DO SO AND SO….. I went on and on, wondering if I was doing all right for many years. Matter fact it was while I was in my Desert in 1999 as I lay on the floor crying when He came to me and SPOKE TO ME OUTRIGHT. I said Lord, I am shocked … you are speaking to me. Why? His answer came back quickly. He said, Because you ask me! WHEN DID I ASK YOU LORD? Answering He said, When you ask me to treat you like Jeremiah, Elijah and Moses etc… IMMEDIATELY I REMEMBERED ASKING HIM… IN 1974. I exclaimed… THAT WAS 25 YEARS AGO… WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG TO ANSWER…??? He said, because you were not listening and IF I HAD TOLD YOU… WOULD YOU HAVE DONE IT?

Friends, The Lord does never forget the prayers the Saints Pray, and I say HE ALWAYS ANSWERS THEM. This is why He keeps them and he will bring them to the Judgments, to assure each that their prayers are answered.

Prayers are so special to the Lord, they are like a SWEET ODOUR… A BURNING SENTED CANDEL OR FRAGRANCE OF PERFUME. He is drawn to them and COLLECTS THEM, EVER MOVED BY THEM.
