Why Does It Seem Like God Is Silent From Heaven?

Ever wondered?

• Why has South Africa not changed?
• Why has God not answered the prayers that has gone up from all the great rallies that has been held where so many thousands attended?
• Why do people, who used to flock to these meetings, no longer go to attend?

Allow me to begin by answering the last question first….

For so many years and by means of so many events that has been hosted to “Pray for South Africa“, the hopes of people have been stirred over and over again that…

• God was going to rescue South Africa,
• That things were now going to change….
• That everything was going to be affected….
• That our land would be healed and delivered from all the hatred, racism, terror and tyranny that has befallen a land where peace once prevailed. (at least for some time)

As these meetings went on, and promises kept being made in the name of God, as to what was going to happen next, and as prophecies kept going out, from meeting to meeting, without yielding any fruit and without producing any of the things that were promised that was going to change — that actually proved to grow worse after the gatherings — people began having questions within their own hearts about why God was not doing the things which they were told was going to be done?

Why was The LORD not answering the prayers of thousands gathering to seek His Face?

Then, a few years ago, there was a final great moment of excitement when everybody caught a wind of hope and all traveled down to Bloemfontein for a new “Move of God” that was going to “forever change South Africa.”

Sadly, that did not yield the expected and promised results either, and following that meeting, all of the problems that were promised would go away, dramatically increased to levels never heard of before in South Africa!

Towns were torched, anarchy broke out, farm murders increased to record numbers (and are still increasing!), hate prevailed, racism burned like a wildfire on all sides of the spectrum and gang violence went out of control!

The last and greatest meeting planned and expected to draw millions to pray, failed to attract any significant amount of people and was probably one of the smallest gatherings of any of these kind of meetings held over the past few years.

People had lost faith in these gatherings and in what had been promised would be yielded through them. It is as simple as that!

In addition, these meetings became all about statistics and breaking records.

It became evident that they served the purpose of leaving a legacy for history to record.

So why did The LORD not answer the prayers and why did nothing happen that was promised from the podiums in terms of seeing South Africa changed?

Because we started at the wrong end of the stick!

We began to pray as a nation, and we gathered to pray as a nation, long before we yielded our hearts in humbling ourselves as individuals before The LORD!

At the time of these meetings, I shared some posts warning that God will not honour our prayers, even if we go up in the millions, before we have not set our own hearts in order with him in our lives and in our homes.

God does not hear the prayers of those who walk in unrighteousness, but His ears are attentive to the prayers of the righteous!

We began with prayer, without having noticed that God did not call on us to pray — He called on us to humble ourselves!

What does that mean?

To humble yourself does not mean to bend your knees — but to bend your heart!

It means that we come before Him to give Him our lives. To yield ourselves to Him and allow Him to take the first place in every area of our lives!

We come to bow and bend our lives before Him, not only our knees!

We turn ourselves towards Him and ask Him to come and to take our lives and to work His Will out in us, everyday, and in every area of our lives!

That is the only way to change!

God is looking for a people who will truly “Repent” — permanently choose to turn themselves towards Him and towards His Will.

He is seeking true worshipers —- not lip service!

He is seeking genuine people, who will genuinely give themselves to Him. Not for a week-end of prayer meetings. Not for a month of two coming off a high, after visiting some meeting somewhere — but those who will mean business with Him!

Then, He promised — He will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land!

The healing begins in our hearts being healed, and when we are healed and when we are in right-standing with Him — then He will be attentive! Then He will hear! Then He will answer!

For so long, as we live our lives our way and walk in and live in disobedience to Him — we can book as many prayer events as we like — Heaven will remain silent to our prayers!

“For the eyes of The LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of The LORD is against those who do evil,” 1 Peter 3:12.

So, why has South Africa not changed?

Because God is waiting on US to change!

He is waiting on our hearts to come into agreement with his heart.

He waiting for us to truly become His People, washed and cleansed by the Blood of Jesus, filled with His Holy Spirit and led by His Will in everything we are and in everything we do!

South Africa shall be changed and shall be free when we lift our hearts to heaven and seek God with all that we are — when we forget about events, plans and schemes — when we take our eyes off of men and privately begin to seek God in our hearts and to serve Him with our lives.

Then and then only, can we expect to see the hand of The LORD working in our land, performing miracles in the lives of people from every race, culture and nationality in South Africa!

Jesus still remains the only answer! He however, needs to become the answer for each one of us, individually!

Heaven is waiting patiently on us and for us — the choice is yours and mine to make for ourselves and for this great nation!

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land,” 2 Chronicles 7:14.
