Whom Shall I Send? Who Will Go for Us?
“Also I heard the voice of The LORD, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8.
When you hear the saying as The Prophet Isaiah heard; “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” — remember, that it’s not a call to being a “celebrity” who’s loved and adored by men — rather the call The Prophet Isaiah responded to was an assignment that was going to bring a shaking and a scattering till only a “tenth” of the people are left whom The LORD considered the Holy Seed.
“But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.” Isaiah 6:13.
The Prophet Ezekiel responded to the call to being sent to a rebellious nation; a people called ‘thorns, briers and scorpions,’ ready to sting him at every turn.
“And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day. For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith The LORD GOD. And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.” Ezekiel 2:3-7.
The Apostle Paul responded to a call that’ll make him suffer persecutions of a kind he could never imagine;
“But The LORD said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.” Acts 9:15-16.
Yet, it must be told that Satan offered The LORD Jesus Christ — as he has done to many in the world today — a call, to fame, fortune and all the kingdoms of this world;
“And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine,” Luke 4:5-7.
There are those who have indeed been called and sown as the Righteous Wheat in the fields of the world.
There are those who also have been called and have been sown as the tares in the fields of the world.
Guess what! If your indices for measuring is physical growth — be reminded — the Wheat and the Tares are allowed to grow together — until the time of the harvest!
“Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn,” Matthew 13:30]
At significant seasons of life, the “callers” will exercise their liberty to dial your number.
The question will be : Whose call will you answer at the appointed “Time of Destiny”?
