A word of exhortation to trust God!

God wants His people to trust in Him!

“In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths,” Proverbs 3:6.

Whenever we, as the people of God, have a problem, the first resource we need to acknowledge is the LORD! Not, mama, daddy, sister, etc., but the LORD our God! Jehovah!

For, I hear the LORD saying, “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!”

Yet He also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back His Words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. Come on somebody, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God!

Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not Spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both He that helpeth shall fall, and He that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together, (Isaiah 31:1).

Do not sit there in despair, but call upon Him because He wants to lead and to guide you and He wants to give you an answer, but so many folks go to the things they can see before they even think about acknowledging the LORD and this angers the LORD!

Just ask King Asa, who instead of seeking the LORD’s counsel took it upon himself to make a deal with King Aram; instead of seeking God for help!

You see, God became angry with Asa and He sent Hanani the seer to warn Asa regarding his lack of wisdom in seeking God and putting Him last, after all He had done for Him in the past! And, the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said, “Because you went for help to the king of Aram and didn’t ask God for help, you’ve lost a victory over the army of the king of Aram.

My God is speaking in this hour and He is saying that many times we loose great victories all because we fail to seek the counsel of God. First, before acknowledging God who is and should be our first available resource!

The LORD wants His people to know that making God second to all others (gods) as though we had no other choice but to seek God, because He is our last available resource and He has already proven to us over and over again that our help comes from the LORD is nothing more than treason! Because our complete trust should be in Him and Him alone! Is not our God a jealous God?

Just like God dealt with Asa, He will also deal with us as a people when we have our trust in other things besides Him! And, this is why He sent Hanani the seer who came to Asa king of Judah and and said, “Because you went for help to the king of Aram (the wrong source) and didn’t ask God for help, you’ve lost a victory (God is speaking and He is saying that all those that fail to seek Him shall be highly disappointed in this season, because He is getting ready to cause the thing that you dreaded the most to defeat you!

My, my, my! The LORD is saying, I called you to be My first love, My beloved and you were called to be a nation under God that sought God for directions and resources, but now you have became a nation that is seeking your own ways; and your own gods; instead of the LORD your God!

The LORD reminded Asa and said, “Didn’t the Ethiopians and Libyans come against you with superior forces, completely outclassing you with their chariots and cavalry? But you asked God for help and He gave you the victory. God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to Him.”

Asa got so mad at the warning of the seer God sent to warn Him that He took Him and threw Him in prison and He began to abuse the people, taking it out on them because He did not want to hear the prophet of God!

But because Asa sought the wrong counsel, God brought judgment upon Him; as a result of his poor judgment and He caused Asa to come down with a severe case of foot disease and He died!

The LORD wants to teach His people and the nation(s) in this season to seek Him first for counsel; instead of coming to Him, after we have made choices that are going to take us down roads that may ultimately take us down paths of destruction and lead us to our own demise!
