Who Shuts Who In?
Man was made in God’s triune image, and therefore a special place within each human being that nothing in this life can ultimately fulfill, but God.
People try to stuff so much of themselves to fill that vacuum with temporal pleasures, relationships, or anything or everything that makes them feel whole, satisfied for at least a moment.
“If we who are [abiding] in Christ have hoped only in this life [and this is all there is], then we are of all people most miserable and to be pitied.” 1 Corinthians 15:19 AMP
In this life have we tried to put our confidence into anything or anyone? Being miserable can come in many forms! For the true believers in Christ, we have eternity in our hearts, and we have eternity as our perspective and home. This life isn’t all there is and thank God it is not!
But God! In His Mercy and Loving Kindness, He doesn’t stand over us or make demands that we take the gift of free will and free choice.
Yes, in his mind he wants you to receive it, but he won’t make you accept it. To the true believer in Christ, heaven is in our heart, therefore eternity abides in our heart in this life and the life to come.
Put yourself in God’s place for a moment. Think how strange it would be if you wanted to be with a person who you have loved so dearly, but they have hated you at every turn; you tried to reach out, but they wanted nothing to do with you, no matter how long and how many ways you tried.
You tried and you wept for so long for them to come and be a part of your life, but you finally had to realize that time was winding down and it’s time to let go of every constraint because The LORD is shutting the door! It is important to know when to let go beloved!
You can’t make someone be a sheep when they are a goat!
“And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and The LORD shut him in.” Genesis 7:16 KJV.
Yes, even in the days of Noah, there were only eight who believed what The LORD said concerning the coming catastrophe upon the earth. The LORD God Himself closed the door on that generation that rejected Him.
We face another door that will be shut, and no man can open…. (Revalation 3)
“But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be,” Matthew 24:37-39 KJV.
There are limits and timing to consider, and God is merciful and gives ample time, not wishing that any should perish but that all would come to everlasting life, but He knows not all want him. So why are we so surprised that we are rejected and hated because we love?
Talking about eternity, and judgment or hell, God does not play games, or mince words to blindside folks. God has warned and prewarned plenty about putting faith or trust in anything other than His plan of redemption from all sin.
People know us by our love relationship with him. Jesus Christ is our eternal home. Eternity resides in each living soul, but it is the decision of every soul in what portion of eternity they will reside. There is heaven and hell and there is nothing in between.
When we choose to accept life in Christ Jesus, and realize we are in an eternal relationship now with our creator.
We must learn to walk with him and live for him all the days of our life. However, there are those who choose the broad way that leads to destruction, and many are those that find it.
It is impossible to say you are a Christian, and not have a daily relationship and walk with The LORD. If you think that all you must do is, make confession one time and you go on living unchanged you are sadly mistaken.
Christianity is a relationship, with someone that is with you and wants to walk with you! Living for Christ is a lifestyle of walking with The LORD Day by day in relationship and fellowship.
It isn’t just a decision you make at an altar and then go about your merry way and bearing no change. No, once the decision is made, Christ comes to you to abide with you by the Holy Spirit. There will be evidence to our confession.
Once we exit the superficial and mundane life, we must put away immaturity and childish ways. We must take hold of His strength and make complete surrender to His protection and make peace with Him, having accountability for our own actions and growth. Holding to absolute confidence and assurance that He is well able to perform.
