Who Says No One Loves You?
Most of us who have spent time in the Word have heard John 14:6, where Jesus tells us that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life… AND that no man comes to the Father but by Him.
Yet this morning, as I was reading in another portion of John, I came across John 6:65.
It states that, no man can come to Jesus unless it is granted him by the Father.
Some may be confused by what, at first glance, appears to be a contradiction, but these two verses paint a complete picture of the salvation message.
By way of illustration consider this. The Father exhibited His creative genius by way of the Son when He set the earth into motion.
After all, He spoke words and it was the words which established the type and nature of all creation.
According to John 1:1 the Word is the Son. To put it simply, the Father’s will was accomplished by the Son.
Now consider again these two verses.
- The Father sees sinful man and desires to be in relationship with him.
- To accomplish His plan for restoration He sends His Son to create the way.
- Man responds to the Holy Spirit’s conviction by running to the Son and asking for forgiveness.
- By way of the Son man is now granted access to the Father.
Again, in John 6:65 it states, “…unless granted access by the Father.”
Yet what sinful man seeks God’s ways?
Which King grants a request which is never made? OUR KING!
By His Grace, He gives what we could never possibly comprehend to ask.
He grants access to His Son, so that man can come into relationship with Him.
Who says no one loves you?
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me,”” John 14:6 NKJV.
“And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father,” John 6:65 NKJV.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God,” John 1:1 NKJV.
