Who or What is your GOD?
WHO OR WHAT IS YOUR GOD?
I WANT TO GIVE YOU GREATER THINGS!
Who Or What Is Your God? He Wants To Give You Greater! Who or what are you allowing to control your feelings and therefore your actions? What do you think on most of the time? Is it a person or a sport or TV program, etc.? It can be many things. Just think about what controls your day. If it is anything other than the Lord it just may be an idol or “they” may be an idol, therefore, it has become a god to you.God asked me that once, “Jo what are you thinking on most and who are you trying to please the most?” He said that it had become a god. He said that He is a jealous God and does not share a place with other gods. Sometimes we just need to do a heart check!!
My husband tells me that he was in the music business for a few years and when he came to the Lord he had to lay it down for a while because it had become a god to him. He now plays for the Lord but God required it for a while until he made the Lord first place in his life. God wants to be our first love, period! He loves our full devotion. So He is asking me to ask you this today. Who or what is your god? He loves us and He is against anything that takes our devotion away from Him. He paid a great price to be our one and only. He loves you!
“Surely you know that you become the slaves of whatever you give yourselves to. Anything or anyone you follow will be your master” Romans 6:16.
“God spoke to me. He said, Son of man, look toward the north. So I looked, and there, north of the Altar Gate by the entrance, was that statue that made God jealous” Ezekiel 8:5.
I have had things that I put before God suddenly pulled out from under me. I just want to say that it is way easier to give them up. It is time to give up our idols!! And oh yes, it can be a “ministry.”
“But the people would not listen. They were very stubborn like their ancestors. Their ancestors did not believe the Lord their God. They refused to follow his laws and the agreement He made with their ancestors. They would not listen to his warnings. They worshiped idols that were worth nothing and they themselves became worth nothing” 2 Kings 17: 14-15.
There is hope for us that He is bringing chastisement to. It is for the purpose of ridding us of our idols! There are great promises for us to take a hold of, too many to name here but here is one.
“O people who dwell in Zion at Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide Himself any more, but your eyes will constantly behold your Teacher. And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left. Then you will defile your carved images overlaid with silver and your molten images plated with gold; you will cast them away as a filthy bloodstained cloth, and you will say to them, Be gone! Then will He give you rain for the seed with which you sow the soil, and bread grain from the produce of the ground, and it will be rich and plentiful. In that day your cattle will feed in large pastures” Isaiah 30:19-23 (AMP).
He is promising great revelation for those that will give up their idols here. I don’t know about you but I am hungry for more of His revelation! Then He says we will hate the idols! When you get all of Him there is nothing or no one that compares!
