Which Is Your Case: A Job Journey, Or A Hagar Hassle?
It is important to know if a continuing adverse situation is a Job journey, or a Hagar hassle? Or even a witchcraft attack.
A Job journey must surely end, a Hagar hassle must be solved with Divine Wisdom and Knowledge, and a witchcraft attack must be repelled with repentance (to close any loopholes of sin being used by the enemy to attack), supplications, decrees and declarations against the enemy.
What Job suffered was intended by THE LORD to prove that, even in testing times, one can still cling to GOD, endure – yes, persevere, and not fall away.
It was also to bless his latter days more than his beginning — “the end intended by THE LORD” (James 5:11).
But what Hagar suffered when she and the lad desperately needed water in the wilderness, was for lack of knowledge. She had a well of water there but didn’t know.
Instead of praying and crying to GOD for His Help, she wailed and wept in exceeding anxiety, and resigned herself to a morbid expectation that the boy will die.
It had to take the lad’s voice to get GOD to intervene. (Please see Genesis 21:1-21).
“What ails you?” is the question from Heaven.
As He did for Hagar, ask GOD to open your eyes to see the well of water He has for you, and help you to fetch from it to meet your need. (Genesis 21:19).
It’s all there for our fetching and taking:
“They are abundantly satisfied with The Fullness of Your House, And You give them Drink from The River of Your Pleasures.” Psalms 36:8.
Yes, “The River of GOD is full of Water...” (Psalm 65:9).
Even if it is a Job journey one is trudging on, one must always check with THE LORD to hear, know, declare and do what THE SPIRIT is saying.
Sometime ago, for about four and half years, I obediently stayed put with a VERY IMPORTANT mission assignment THE LORD had given me to undertake for Him.
It was very rough and tough. But I kept on until the first phase was accomplished. GLORY TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
However, I kept sensing that I needed to move from this mountain.
Then one day, THE HOLY SPIRIT quickened me to war with Revelation 12: 6,14 as I was studying The Scripture.
“Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by GOD, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days. But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.” Revelation 12:6,14 emphasis added.
Relentlessly, I kept declaring repeatedly: “In JESUS’ NAME, I pray that I be given two wings of a great eagle, with which to fly to a place prepared by GOD.”
Within a very short while, THE LORD moved me on — really and truly to a place prepared by GOD, which I had no previous knowledge of whatsoever, but THE LORD had prepared for me. It was a refreshing Promised Land to have entered, possessed and have dominion in.
Had I not heard what THE SPIRIT was saying, I would have missed what GOD had prepared for me.
As written, “ye have not, because ye ask not.” (James 4:2).
The LORD said with great goodness:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your FATHER Who is in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:7-11.
When I asked as led by THE HOLY SPIRIT, it was released to me swiftly. It had long been prepared and waiting for me.
Once I got in there, AMAZING Divine Plans started unfolding very quickly.
Healing miracles began taking place – including a woman who was healed of years of acute liver disease and other debilitating health problems.
“For we are His Workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which GOD prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.
On the personal front, various things that I couldn’t get done for a very long time (one of them for over four years), were swiftly accomplished within days.
Furthermore, strictly seeking, hearing and following THE HOLY SPIRIT’s Instructions, I was given VIP treatment at the organisations where they were done.
We prosper by depending on, seeking, hearing and following THE HOLY SPIRIT’s leading, (Acts 9:31).
This may be through dreams, visions, inner witness, mental impressions, The Word, The Audible Voice of THE LORD, a person (both believers and unbelievers; when It is THE LORD, you’ll just know).
But beware of deceiving spirits mimicking THE HOLY SPIRIT.
If you are uncertain if It is THE LORD speaking or not, just pray: “LORD, if this is you, make me know with all certainty that It is You. Thank You LORD. Amen.”
And THE LORD will do exactly that — just as He has said:
“And when He brings out His Own sheep, He goes before them; and the sheep follow Him, for they know His Voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” I AM The Good Shepherd; and I know My sheep, and AM known by My Own. My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:4-5,14,27.
Always tell JESUS CHRIST The Good Shepherd to lead you.
If a Job journey, pray
If your situation is a Job journey you are on, then pray for the end intended by THE LORD to manifest quickly.
Inquire of THE LORD to ensure that you are not dwelling at this mountain for too long.
“THE LORD our GOD spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain. Turn and take your journey, and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighboring places in the plain, in the mountains and in the lowland, in the South and on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates. See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which THE LORD swore to your fathers — to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob — to give to them and their descendants after them.’” Deuteronomy 1:6-8.
Don’t lag behind if it is time to go in and possess the land.
Waiting on GOD is not like the Doris Day performance of the song Que Será, Será (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) in the 1956 film “The Man Who Knew Too Much”.
That mindset does not, and cannot, move one into one’s Promised Land.
You have to move and FIGHT with Kingdom Force (Matthew 11:12) to get in and take the land, all the time only thinking, speaking and taking action as led by THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Following GOD’s Strategy easily takes the land, without sorrow.
“The Blessing of THE LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.” Proverbs 10:22.
If a Hagar hassle, inquire of THE LORD
However, if, like Hagar, you have a well of water by you yet you are thirsty (knowing not of the well), then ask THE LORD to show you the well and help you fetch the water.
And then repent and recover all.
A mixture of Job journey and Hagar hassle
Sometimes, a case might be a mixture of both a Job journey and a Hagar hassle. THE HOLY SPIRIT has both the diagnoses and the remedy.
Inquire of Him to know and do what you need to do.
“Trust in THE LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.

Like John, I like to put my head to The Heart of JESUS so as to know and do His Will always. What’s in His Heart is what matters now and FOREVER. His Heart’s Desire is my only desire.
As John was, I am the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20)
And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
NB. Surely, “the disciple whom JESUS loves” and “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS”, like ALL The Promises of GOD, are available to every believer to obtain, just as John and Paul did.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
Praise God for this extremely timely word. I receive it and touch and agree in the Name of Jesus that the Father may be glorified.
Father I ask now for the bride and body of Christ, to be given wisdom by You to know which season they are in and to be led by their Shepherds voice. May all other voices become strangers that are never followed! In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
