Which is it to Be, Life or Death?
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9
“Empathy, but not sympathy when someone is in the throws of addiction“ is what I heard The LORD speak to me recently.
Just some of my thoughts today first on this subject as I pondered:
- My soul needs feeding, but my spirit needs to retain it.
- Words of Life, they will resonate and stick to our spirit man.
- I am determined to know Christ and Him crucified.
- No only Him crucified, but Resurrected inside of me!
“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” Romans 6:5,6
Then and only then, when I speak His words of Life, they are eternal.
They will help a person as they will.
If they choose life, it will grow inside of them.
To be set free is a powerful thing!
Still if they choose death, it is their decision. We must let them decide.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21
Here is a older article that I wrote:
Now an excerpt out of it:
“Some will listen and don’t have to go all the way to the bottom. They will catch that rope and let you pull them up so to speak.
If not, just know if we don’t get out of the way we can hinder what God is trying to do in their life. To rescue a person over and over, only enables them to use us as a crutch!
It is unhealthy for them and for us also.
We must choose right and apply wisdom in a loving matter with our choice. It will help and not hurt.
Then Stand back and watch God work.
The situation is now in His Mighty Hands and He will move!”
Now in conclusion one more article on this subject.
I hope this may give Christian leaders just some more tools today on helping others. We can all learn from one another.
That is my prayer that we use a balance in all this.
God bless you all.

Amen. We can become a crutch to people.
I’ve seen people get bailed out over and over. It Shurely hinders, does not help.
Gets in the way of what a God is doing.
Sometimes we have to let go and let God.
God bless you for this word. My prayer is that many people will read this and let God be God.
Thank you Pastor. Only the spirit of the Lord can truly direct us and lead us with people. We would be too hard or either too soft! He will provide the balance we need. God bless you.
Thank you, sister, I’m going to pray with a friend in rehab from drugs, after church. This was certainly a timely word.
You are certainly welcome. It was worth it if just to help you with this situation. God bless you.
