Where Would One Find Messages of Hope & Truth?
“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 6:19-20.
With so many messages that we read these days about the dark days that are coming, one may wonder how one would prepare for them.
As I’ve considered this, I’m certain that many of you have as well. So, I decided to write some things that I believe, would serve us well in thinking about all of this.
Most of this was written down back in 2018, and now with the upcoming Election and the constant stir of concern over everything that this entails, we must have an anchor for our souls.
Where would any of us be without a sense of hope for the future?
And indeed, what would that hope look like?
We all realize what a divided Nation we are. This has been an on-going thing now for at least 10 years or more.
And now as never before, our land stands in the balance. Say what you will, we may well have a totalitarian type of government very soon.
It will be clothed in all of the famous buzz words that speak of safety, and economic success, but don’t be fooled, for the ultimate control will eliminate all or most of the safeguards that we have had as a people since our Nation’s founding.
And then I read messages from well-known prophetic ministers who claim that a certain person is the one who will save America from ruin.
He will be the savior for our land, and possibly the entire world. It’s no wonder that many are confused and possibly without hope.
Many of these “ministers” are lacking discernment, and yet they continue to pound out their messages to belie the truth.
If you haven’t already read some of Project 2025 — then you better begin now to look at it.
It is an insidious plan to change our entire government and forge a new one that has nothing to do with Democracy.
Most if not all of the built-in safeguards that our government has, will be taken away, and a strong man and his regime will take the reins.
And don’t be naïve, even though he claims he won’t administer this project — he will.
I for one am not fooled by the lips of one who says things that sound like they appeal to a Christian audience.
I look at their heart and allow discernment to see what is true and what is not. We are told to judge a tree by its fruit, and I’ll tell you that the tree is rotten to the core.
What happens if millions lose their social security benefits?
What happens when the educational system is eliminated?
What happens when only one news agency is allowed to speak?
I know, we think that these things are so engrained in our society, that surely, they will remain.
Well, I’ll tell you that we would be without a place to live, because a good portion of our income depends upon these things.
So, again, where would our hope lie?
It doesn’t lie in our government, nor in a political power. It has to be within our faith and hope and the One who lives in eternity. When everything else is crumbling around us, we have to have an anchor, a rock onto which we can lay our hearts and minds upon.
Perhaps this sounds so surreal and other worldly, but this is where we’re at, at this time in history.
Some will point out that we’ve gone through some of these things in the past, and yet the stakes are so high this time, that we’re now entering into a time period unknown from before.
I realize that some don’t agree with me and my assessment of all of this. I have heard the arguments over the last 10 years.
Sometimes I’ve remained silent and other times I’ve spoken. I haven’t wanted to speak sometimes because we are so divided, and yet the truth of the situation still needs to be spoken.
With all of the vivid messages that speak of crumbling buildings, food shortages, and the spread of violence, one would be hard-pressed to consider how they might forge their way through those days.
Certainly, some have already considered building underground shelters that are equipped with loads and loads of food and needed supplies to keep them safe from danger.
Others have with The LORD’s instruction, built places of refuge that will serve themselves and others.
Many others have gathered a large arsenal of guns and weaponry to keep them safe from those who might come to harm them and their families.
I know, we’ll have a strong man that will make sure that everything will be all right. Well, that would be nice, wouldn’t it?
Germany had a strong man, and we know how that turned out don’t we?
But then I read passages like this:
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of The LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. “ Psalm 91:1-6.
And then I also consider the story of the widow who had run out of food for herself and son.
We know the story of how the prophet Elisha had come to her asking for a small morsel of bread, even though the woman had no food left in her house.
We see the mighty hand of God at work here, for the oil and the barrel of meal didn’t run out.
You see, God will sustain us in ways that defy the logic of man.
“And she said, As The LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith The LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that The LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of The LORD, which he spake by Elijah.” 1 Kings 17:12-16.
But I will tell you this: you’d better get your house in order — because everything that can be shaken will be shaken.
You’d better take stock of all of the items of luxury that you own — and see if anything is more important to you than your relationship with Him.
There’s nothing wrong with having a nice home and car, but when our time is spent with it rather than finding a place to sit at His feet, then it can become a distraction.
If you haven’t already been able to hear His voice clearly, then this will be of utmost importance.
Because with all of the other voices that find a way of vying for our attention, you will be lost in a maze of confusion.
It won’t be a matter of what your pastor or your favorite bible teacher has to say, because they will also be thrown into panic wondering what to do next. Know the scriptures, and keep them close to your heart.
It’s probably going to be wise to make your life simpler and to eliminate those things that occupy your time and attention.
Each person will need to make up their own mind what is important and what isn’t. We all have families and schedules to meet, meals to cook, and houses to clean. But remember that many will have to decide what their real priorities are.
Don’t allow others to cause you to fear for what lies ahead. There are some whose words only breed fear and no hope.
God’s Word always has a sense of balance in it.
Don’t be misled, but learn to discern what is true and what is not!

Stephen, you write words of wisdom and truth. Keep it up, trust the Lord and His message, even when contrary to the host of end times teachers. When democracy unravels, and darkness reigns, evangelicals will have no one to blame but themselves. But it must happen this way. America will be destroyed (Rev 18:8). before Armageddon, and before the rapture. Our faith and hope must be deeply rooted in Jesus and His eternal kingdom.
Dear Dave,
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful reply. It is appreciated for sure. I don’t always get favorable replies on the format, but I intend to keep sending them!
God bless,
Stephen Hanson
Folks, most of you, if not all, should know that I follow Christ and not the government. But I’m also not naïve, and believe that it’s important to KNOW about these things. Now also, JGP, as a former retired hs art/English teacher, I know of the importance of education, and I have been in many schools, teaching and doing substitute teaching. It would be very unwise to get rid of the education dept. Perhaps some may realize that rewriting history is a good thing, well, it’s not obviously. And let’s not be naïve as well, about social security possibly being cut, it certainly could be, don’t be foolish. If you don’t know what’s being taught, then don’t assume that you know—I do know. It’s not just social issues. I mean, it’s ridiculous to think that reading, writing and as you say, arithmetic aren’t being taught as a priority, they are. Discern yes, but also get the facts straight. Amen.
It is better to follow Jesus Christ though it cost you your life. If you feel that you must counter this argument in any way, then, you have already made your choice, a choice that is a broad way to destruction. Only Jesus Christs takes you into Heaven. ANYONE else you “follow” is taking you to HELL.
Again, it should be obvious to ALL, that I follow Christ. I mean really, just because I’m stating important issues, and not giving a teaching something deemed important, doesn’t mean I’m not talking about issues or concerns of all of us, I am. Be wise please.
God is my witness. Beware lest you fall into a trap. Governments will rise and fall, but His Kingdom is Eternal.
Mathew 24:45-51
45Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give the others their food at the proper time? 46Blessed is that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
48But suppose that servant is wicked and says in his heart, ‘My master will be away a long time.’ 49And he begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50The master of that servant will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not anticipate. 51Then he will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
God Bless you sir for speaking truth. Many on this sight are speaking the words of the great liar who tempted Adam and Eve. He looks like and Angel of Light, but his soul is black with evil and wickedness. I pray with love for these souls. For myself, I would rather die in the light than flourish in the darkness. In these times when darkness fills the earth to the vast horizon, a great light will come. And we will feel so honored to see its arrival. Thank you again!
Amen Kirk,
Thank you my friend. Yes, these things are noted. I shake my head quite often these days, wondering why so many “supposed ministers of truth” continue to be deluded. It truly astounds me!
Take care,
Stephen Hanson
What happens when the “federal” Department of Education is eliminated? Parents get their rights back, God is “allowed” to come back into the schools, children are not brainwashed to believe they are not their God given gender, and we get back to learning what schools are supposed to prioritize; reading, writing, and arithmetic, not social justice. And, we already have only one news agency that is allowed to speak…turn on any mainstream media news program and they are all parroting the same approved narrative, almost verbatim, that apparently, by the rest of your post, you have bought into. No, the strong orange man does not want to eliminate Social Security. So many lies the hateful mainstream media has brought against one man, which have been debunked time and time again. So yes, one has to discern for themselves what is true and what is not. I pray for you Stephen and I pray for my country. May God bless America!
1 Project 2025 is not the orange man’s agenda. He is not part of that.
2 We have 3 branches of government that provide checks and balances so there can be no totalitarian government regardless of who becomes president.
Certainly he has denied being a part of it, but perhaps it’s wise to realize that the one running it, was just fired. Again, don’t be naive.
