Where is the New Wine?
As I was meditating upon the LORD, He began talking to me regarding this new wine!
This wine was symbolic for the spirit, emotions of joy, happiness, truth, and or revelations that should have taken place in the life of the believer.
However; without Christ it would also bring on the negative emotions of hate, anger, sorrow, drunkenness, bitterness, guile, evil revelations, mockery, and or delusions with a host of other ungodly sins.
Jesus was called, and his disciples, to a marriage celebration. When they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. But, Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it, (John 2:2-5 KJV)
Jesus and His mother no doubt, where discussing two different wines in this parable! Just as the church is today.
You see, the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be, (Romans 8:8).
Especially: the revelations of God! What is the carnal mind? Anything that pertaining to or characterized by the flesh or the body, its passions and appetites; sensual: carnal pleasures.
Jesus was speaking of a new wine that was coming to the body of Christ!
You see, this wine Jesus spoke of was for those who lacked the spirit, emotions of joy, happiness, truth, and or revelations into the heavenly realm like his mother Mary did.
I am sure his mother was like many of us who are following God but we lack a deep level of Who Christ really is and what his mission is truly all about!
Therefore, after the LORD spoke of the new garment, He immediately proceeded to speak also of new wine.
The new wine is not a provision for the outward need, but for the inward need of mortal men that can not be fulfilled without this new wine.
For, I believe that God is saying that His People not only have an outward need to get married, but we also have an inward need and a desire to know the deeper things of God.
And, how can the church meet that need without being connected to the bride groom?
Many are naked and without a garment and need something to cover them. They also need something to fill them, with more than just this natural wine Mary was worried about at the wedding.
Many are so caught up in the natural aspects of the Kingdom, but they have altogether forgotten about the bridegroom Who is a great part of this great wedding!
They are making toasts and celebrating regarding the marriage, but they have forgotten about this new wine that Jesus desired to give The Church that would bring about an eternal joy and happiness to the souls of men!
For we are so poor outwardly, and we are so empty inwardly. We need the robe upon us for the Father’s sake, but we need the new wine within us for our own sakes.
Help us Holy Ghost! We need not only the new garment, but also the new wine.
Therefore, after the Lord spoke of the new garment, He immediately proceeded to speak also of new wine.
The new wine is not a provision for the outward need, but for the inward need. We not only have an outward need, we also have an inward need.
We need something to cover us, and we also need something to fill us. We are so poor outwardly, and we are so empty inwardly.
We need the robe upon us which is this new garment for the Father’s sake, but we need the new wine within us for our sakes.
We need not only the new garment, but also the new wine to heal and to fulfill a sin sick soul, (Luke 5:36-39).
You see, wine was the common drink of the Jews who enjoyed it with meals and shared with friends (Genesis 14:18; John 2:3).
It was also an essential part in the worship of the people of God in both Testaments. No, it was not used to go get intoxicated by, because Jesus came to fulfill our every need.
But, it was the culture and the life style of the Jewish culture of celebration. This is why Jesus used it as a time of celebration for what he was about to bring into the lives of his people: Newness!
It was also used medicinally, to help the weak and the sick (2 Samuel 16:2; Proverbs 31:6; 1 Timothy 5:23).
Psalm 104:15 portrays wine similarly, saying that wine “makes man’s heart glad”
To put fresh wine into an old wineskin, however, is asking for trouble. The old wineskin has assumed a definite shape and is no longer pliable . It is fixed and somewhat brittle.
The activity of new wine will stretch it beyond its ability to yield. And so both the wine and the skin are both lost together.
I believe that God wants His People to know and to understand that after you become born again there should be a transformation (difference) and a change in the life of the believer.
Unlike, what this new age Christianity is teaching! Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: (where is the evidence?) old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new, (2 Corinthians 5:17).
For, we CANNOT CONTINUE TO put new ideas into old mind-sets. We can’t get new results with old behavior, (Matthew 9:17).
Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: BUT thou hast kept the good wine until now, (John 2:10 KJV).
