“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?” James 4:1-5.

“From whence comes wars? Where do the fights and misgivings come from?

You fight for things that you do not have. You fight for things that are from your own desires.

What are your grievances with one another? What do they have that you do not?

You are an adulterous generation You seek for the wrong reasons. You bite and claw at one another and yet you still do not have what you asked for. Rather, seek those things that are above, for there those things are everlasting.

Learn to be content with what you have. The world seeks those things that cause quarrels among you.

What do you seek and how do you know you will find that which you seek? For when you find that which you seek it will be Me,” sayeth The LORD.
