When Will It End?
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away,” 2.Timothy 3:1-5.
I look around me and every day it seems that there’s another act of violence, as more and more people are being killed by the acts of senseless men. It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s in a church, a bar, a school, or on the streets. One can think that nowhere is safe anymore.
And then every time that a senseless killing or a shooting occurs, we just know in our hearts, that all of our guns will soon be taken away. It’s almost like we expect the innocent to die, and for bloodshed to occur. But our preoccupation with our guns takes precedence over compassion and grief.
The hate and violence is becoming a common thing it seems. It occurs in our neighborhoods, and even in our own families. We rise up because of our causes, and we justify our actions, saying “An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.”
Surely, if we have been wronged, then we must retaliate. We must rid the world of darkness around us, we say. We must rise up and burn the infidels, and kill them all. And then the endless spiral of hate continues.
We can’t get rid of darkness by using the tools of darkness to dispel them. And yet, justice must be served, but the wheels turn ever so slowly, capitulating the senseless costs of the court and the land, and it robs the innocent and defends the rights of the unrighteous.
We would pray against these things, and believe that the darkness and the evil would cease, but we must know that it won’t. Our world is in a continual spiral moving downwards towards an end. We would like to think that somehow we could prevent it from happening, but its ugly web has sent its tentacles out into every avenue of our world.
And the enemy of our souls sits in his dark caverns, laughing gleefully at what he has wrought.
One could certainly lose heart and feel hopeless against the backdrop of these things. But we are told that the darkness has never understood the light. We are also told that greater is He that is in you, then is he that is in the world.
Finally, at the end of the age, all our swords will then be dropped aside. At that time our missiles and bombs will be detonated and defused. Then a Kingdom of peace and true justice will be established, and the nations will flow unto it.
And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore, Isaiah 2:4.
Selah,

Stephen Hanson of In His Truth Ministries came to the LORD is a special way in 1975 and has prophesied regularly since. In these end-time birthing pangs we are reminded that judgment must first begin with the household of God. Will we be prepared and ready?
