Whatever happened to, I am my Brother’s Keeper?
Yes, Come over here to Macedonia!
Whatever happened to, “I am my Brother’s Keeper?”
This afternoon, I heard God saying that you are your brother’s keeper! God is requiring that we humble ourselves and help someone else, besides our own self, ministry, and family! Just as Apostle Paul who was summoned in a vision by a man saying, “Come over into Macedonia, and help us” (Acts 16:9), God used someone to request prayer from me this week and asked me to pray for their ministry. I quickly messaged them back and said, “I would be delighted!”
During prayer that same week, God spoke to me during in prayer telling me that He had an assignment for me to do. Well, He told me that it would be here in my home town of Charleston, and I was to go over to help this particular group of folks (church) and He also told me what I was suppose to do when I got there and I obeyed! As, I began to think on what God had told me in prayer, it came to my mind, Lord, I don’t know what to do. How will I be going there, because my husband usually makes the decision what church we usually will attend and visit on Sunday? So that is what I thought! But God had another plan, and He showed me that He was in control, and not my husband!
When Sunday morning came, my husband said to go to any church I want, because he wasn’t feeling like going with me on this particular day. So God made a way for me to do just what he had planned for me to do and the way He wanted it done! He even placed in my spirit the church I would be attending – it was all in order!
Well, why am I telling you this? Because later on that night The Lord showed me that many of you need to know that if you truly desired to be used by God to help other, you must begin by preparing your vessel and make it available to God for service! Then, and only then, can you and will you, be able to kill the flesh: pride, envy, bitterness and selfishness and help others to build their ministry, saith The Lord!
God said to me that He will open the door and He will make a way out of no way for you, when there seems to be now way, when you obey him! God has a set time for His people to be blessed, to be released and no amount of name dropping or kissing up, will do it, saith The Lord! You can call all the people you want and try to connect with them, but if God is not in it, you will fail! You will not succeed!
The sad thing that God spoke to me is that many folks will not get flesh out of the way long enough to allow God to use them in this season! Why? Because they think connecting to people they know personally, will bless them, but it is not who you know, but whom you know! God our provider! I heard god say that it is His desire to connect you with people who will both bless you and that will be a blessing to you. But you must open up your spiritual ear gates in this season to hear what the Spirit is saying unto you in this season!
This is what will make all the difference, whether or not your ministry will be blessed or cursed in this season, saith The Lord! This is called divine relationships and connections in God! I hear God saying that many have tried to curse what God has blessed, but it will not work in this season! Why? Because God has his hands on your ministry, your blessings, your assignment, saith The Lord, and many times He withholds them until we are totally dependent upon him! Just as God said to Balaam, “thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed” (Numbers 22:12). If God tells you not to go with someone, or to go with them, obedience is better than a sacrifice! Do not miss your blessing all because they don’t have enough members to help you, and they can’t pay you etc…….. Remember, favor comes from God, not man!
God is sending me to tell you this day, that many have not obeyed the voice of God in blessing you, but He is sending and releasing angels to bless your ministry, saith The Lord! They have spoken cursings over your ministry because it does not look like you have many members to bless there greedy pockets. They have used other prophets and have stolen their seed to bless their own ministries, but God is going to cut off these greedy wolves! God is going to make you the head and not the tail, saith The Lord!
I hear God saying that your enemies are there to bless you to come up and to rise up, but you must look to Him from where all blessings flow, and in this season, God is looking for those who will be obedient to him!
If we would allow God to speak to our hearts, not only would others be blessed, but God would bless you, as well, saith The Lord! Why? Because we are our brother’s keeper, saith The Lord, and when they fail, so do we: the body of Christ!
The eyes cannot say that I have no need of the ears, because when you hurt, so should I, saith The Lord!
I hear God saying that some of you may have asked the question, “Can God really use my life?” Yes! God has given us many perfect examples to look at like Apostle Paul and many others by showing you the obstacles that seemed to be in the way of his service are really not obstacles, but a stepping stone to higher heights, and an opportunity to prove himself to you. Obstacles, which God had no problem in overcoming by his power and grace, because “God can use your life, if you get rid of the flesh and allow Him to speak to the doors of your heart providing you with both instruction and wisdom in this season!” If God called you to it, He will bring you through it, saith The Lord!
I hear God saying, no mountain is too high for Him to reach over and to pick you up! Whom God calls, He qualifies, saith The Lord! God will not send you on a mission to fail and neither should we as Christians wait for the demise of our sister and brothers in Christ by not supporting them in ministry!
When God spoke to me and showed me how many in ministry would rather support someone who will be a blessing to them (has large congregation); rather some one who has a small congregation in ministry! I was saddened, and my heart dropped! It is wrong to have this type of pride and selfishness in the body of Christ, saith The Lord! Many ministries will not even go over and help their fellow Christian brothers and sisters unless they are promised a certain fee, before they even step a foot out the door, or there is something in it, for themselves!
While watching their fellow brothers and sisters fail, all to say, “It must not have been of God in the first place”, but I hear God saying you are your brother’s keeper, saith The Lord! Now, is it wrong for Christians to bless others by way of love tokens and other donations? No! But I hear God saying on the other hand, do you need to be paid for everything that you do for others? Is that what ministry is all about? Do we always need God to show a vision, dream etc to help someone in need? No!
Just as Apostle Paul and Prophet Nehemiah and others were moved to compassion to help rebuild the gates of Jerusalem and to minister to other, so should we be moved to help others; especially the house hold of faith! God is watching you, and if you are ever to be blessed you will have to do like the disciples, yield our vessels to god to be used by him, and to be ready to be moved to compassion to help others who are in need, saith The Lord in this season! (Nehemiah 1:4).
What are you waiting for God, has already placed by the Holy Ghost in you, to help others! Just as He did on the day of Pentecost when they where all on one accord, they ate bread together, went from house to house, and if any man had a need, the disciples where glad to share what they had!
If God has shed His love in your heart, then you too should be glad to help others in anyway that you can, saith The Lord and this includes the giving of your money, time and your service, in helping others; especially the household of faith!
Acts 16:9-18 (NKJV)
“9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.
Lydia Baptized at Philippi
11 Therefore, sailing from Troas, we ran a straight course to Samothrace, and the next day came to Neapolis, 12 and from there to Philippi, which is the foremost city of that part of Macedonia, a colony. And we were staying in that city for some days. 13 And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there. 14 Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. 15 And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.
Paul and Silas Imprisoned
16 Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. 17 This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” 18 And this she did for many days.
But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.”
