What is it to be Content?
What is it to be Content? Let me start out by saying what being content is not:
Being content is not putting the things you need or desire to the side and giving up with an attitude that says, “Oh well, I guess God doesn’t want me to have it then….”
That is absolutely not is being content, any of that!
Being content is being able to “make do” while in a current situation and while in it, you’re waiting on God for the remedy/cure/resolve/resolution/fulfillment/rescue/manifestation of and from it! Amen?
Being content says,”Even as I wait on the promise, I will still happily and easily give God all of my praise and all of my worship! I will not turn my back on God and no other God will I bow down before,worship or praise!”
Being content says, “Even as some days are difficult, I know God is healing me. I know it’s happening!! I know I’m better than yesterday!! Improvement is mine! Success belongs to me!!”
Being content says, “While I can’t go that way, certainly, I can and must go this way! God reinvents my steps to fit his glory!! For god gives me a way of escape as I wait in him!”
Being content never says, “Just give up and throw it all away!! It won’t work!! You’re just wasting more time on God to bless you with something He won’t give you!”
No!!! Being content says, “Stay! Because while you wait, all is coming to pass! Because you’ve been faithful in little, I will make you ruler in much! Because you chose not to curse Me (God) while you waited so patiently and faithfully and you believed that I could only do it, it will be me that will blow your mind! Because you held on to me while in the wait, I will present for you the answer to all your naysayers for they will wait on you! They will be your footstool!,” says The Lord!
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength” Philippians 4:11-13.
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:19.
“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” Matthew 6:25-34.
