What happens when a Christian sins?

How does God deal with His Own Children who make a mistake and sin?

I will give you the answer:

First of all, God does not treat His People like he treats the lost world but, we are His Children, and He has bought us with a price.

We are His. Now, He will never treat His People like a common sinner who has never came into The Kingdom of light.

We are Children of The Light, we will never be children of the darkness again! We have been brought out of that darkness, into His marvelous Light.

Second, we are no longer of this world, but we are children of the King of kings, and Lord of lords. Our Kingdom is not of this world.

In John 17 it says; they are no longer of this world.

“I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth,” John 17:14-17.

We are God’s Children and Jesus prayed for them and said: “Sanctify them through Thy Truth…”

The LORD does not consider us even part of this world anymore, but we belong to The Kingdom of God. His heavenly family!

We are His, and He is our Father. We are a family. He is our Father, we His Children. What Dad (especially The Heavenly Father) would disown His Own Child?

So how does The LORD deal with His Own Children?

I will give you the answer from The Word of God to know how:

“Ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, my son, despise not thou the chastening of The LORD, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: for whom The LORD loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the father of spirits, and live?
For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” Hebrews 12:511.

The LORD does chastens His Children.

Literally, He will put them through things and that is called correction, or chastening. God will never throw away His Child for doing wrong, no. He will give him a ‘whipping’. He will correct His Children as a Father does his son.

This is vastly different then what some are teaching about how God deals with a Child of God who sins. If you have been told that God will throw His Own Son or Daughter into hell fire if they sin, you have been lied to.

Third, there is a sin unto death . If you persist to do that sin, you could die physically.

“If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it,” 1 John 5:16.

The human body is not the spirit and soul. When God talks about this, He is not saying you die a spirit death!

He talks about the physical body. All Bible Students ought to know that the body is not saved. Neither is the soul of man yet saved — until the end when death comes, and the resurrection the body and soul will not change.

See 1 Corinthians 15, it talks about how the earthly body will have to be changed into the heavenly body. That has of course not happened yet. But it will. Until then the body is earthly, and also the soul. (Mind, will and intellect of man.)

The fact is we are being saved now, in our body and soul.

That is why the scriptures tell us to work out salvation. It is not because we must work to be saved, no…. No … No. But we are to be working on this body and soul. To crucify it, or put to death the flesh and mind of man [the soul]. Paul said, “I die daily”.

Paul said in Romans 12:1-2,

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that Good, and Acceptable, and Perfect, Will of God.”

In Christian orthodox theology this is commonly called sanctification. We are being sanctified. The process follows ones salvation of his spirit… Then The Holy Spirit moves inside with our spirit, and begins works on the outside of man [his body and soul].

We must put on the new man, [which is the spirit man inside where The Holy Spirit comes to live.) This body and soul is but a house in which the ‘Spirit’ lives.

The spirit is saved and given eternal life….. now, because of the work of Jesus on His Cross and in His Resurrection. That will never change. But as far as the body and soul, it still has to change.

See 1 Corinthians 15:42-49,

“So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: it is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is The LORD from heaven.
As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”

Conclusion:

God begins in us the day we are born again of The Spirit and become His Spiritual Children. Then after that, The LORD works to … sanctify us (set us apart in this word).

In the end, we will be saved both spirit, body, and soul, and will have a heavenly existence even as our father.

At the present, for all who are now saved, but not made perfect in God’s finished Work…. The LORD will deal with us all who are saved as with His Sons and Daughters.

The day will come when He will put down death, and all will live forever with Him.

Warning:

Please avoid those teachers who are teaching that our Heavenly Father will throw us away if we mess up. This is certainly not true.

But God our Father will chasten us to bring us into His perfect Will for our lives. This is how God treats His heavenly people, when they sin.

I am so glad I am a Son of God, and I have a loving father who will not stop short of completion, but he will work with me until I am all grown up spiritually.

I thank you LORD you do no longer treat your children as the lost and dying world of darkness, but you call us sons.

Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly father give the holy spirit to them that ask him?” Luke 11:11-13.
