What Happens After Salvation?
It is clear in the New Testament Scriptures to the careful student of the Word of God what follows Salvation.
Many have some of these things out of order, and even put some things before Salvation. But the following list are things that are to happen after Salvation, as The LORD gives all to his New Believers.
First
A person who believes with all of his heart should be Baptized under water.
Baptism under water is commanded by Jesus, who said all who believe should be baptized.
“Go into all the world and preach, then baptize all who believe….” Matthew 28:19.
This of course proves that Water Baptism does not save people. People are Saved first and then Baptized.
For Scripture Reference see [a main passage] teaching such here in very clear words:
Acts 8:30-39 — the story of the conversion of the Eunuch of Ethiopia. Read the whole story, but take note of the following verses:
“And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.” Acts 8:36-39.
it needs to be understood by the above verses that the Question: What would hinder me from being baptized? is answered in the statement: “If you believe with all your heart then you may.”
The Eunuch answered: “I believe that Jesus Christ Is the Son of God.”
Then and only then did he baptize the Eunuch. Men who put baptism before salvation are false teachers, or too much emphasis upon the water are also false.
The fact that it is commanded demands an Importance. It is the first act of obedience following salvation.
Most people were baptized the same day they were saved, most only hours later!
In other passages Water Baptism is only seen following Salvation.
Second
Many overlook that at Salvation one is Sealed with The Holy Spirit, but a further work is done by The Holy Spirit when the New Believer is Baptized by the Spirit Into the Body of Christ.
See it here: 1 Corinthians 12:13,
“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”
This, ‘by The Spirit’ work, does place each believer into The body of Christ. Be careful to note that it says the Baptism is by One Spirit, and that the spirit baptizing Work, places them into The Body of Christ.
This is not Water Baptism, but clearly Spirit Baptism — which is behind the scenes and not seen by the eye.
It goes on to say all who are saved — whether they be Jews or Gentles or bond or Free — all are made to drink into One Spirit. This makes all men brothers and family members.
This Spirit Baptism is overlooked by many today, but it is important to see because all Blievers are Baptized into The Body of Christ.
This is actually what makes all members of The Church, or The Body.
Third
Following the Salvation of a person this person does experience a New Beginning. The Scripture calls it all become new creatures — or it is understood all have a new nature.
In another verse they receive a new man, and that New man is the inner man in the spirit of man, and this Spirit Man is the part of man which is Saved. See this verse:
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-19.
It should be pointed out clearly that a saved man is “a new creature in Christ”; the old things are passed away, and all things are become new.
This is why Jesus could say: “Ye must be born again…” Inferring he must be born a new man.
The old thing is the old unconverted sinner. He now is changed. One can truly say after he is saved… I’m a new man now, I have been changed.
This change is very important because the old sin nature is passed away and changed. Literally one who is saved is all new.
A further work described with this area is: we are all crucified or dead with Christ. We are dead and made new,, and even as Jesus was raised from the power of sin and death, so are we.
See it here:
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20.
Of course along with this New “Crucified” Man comes The Fruit of The Spirit.
See this verse:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23.
It then can truly be said… all has changed and a new nature with the definite fruits are manifest.
Fourth
There is yet a further Work of The Holy Spirit that is not the same as any of the Above works.
This Holy Spirit Work is called “The Baptism with The Holy Spirit” and this additional baptism is the coming on and immersing of the believer with The Holy Spirit Power. This act of The Holy Spirit is well documented in Acts 2.
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.” Acts 2:1-6.
This more work is for power to become witnesses unto all the World, and with this Spirit Baptism — covered over or upon with The Holy Spirit — comes at least 9 gifts of The Holy Spirit.
The initial gift being namely tongues or Heavenly Languages, and Prophesying the Truth of the Word of God. See 1 Corinthians 12:7-11.
Fifth
Following Salvation, Jesus said in Matthew 29:20 that all Believers should be taught all things. This Teaching is implied by the other members of the Body of Christ: Jesus said to the Disciples that they should Go and Preach helping men be saved, then teach them all things.
See this in:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20.
At this point one need to point out and place importance on the fact that all New Believers need to be taught.
It is really very possible that just being saved is only the Beginning — and it is still before every Believer is to learn and be taught.
Of course, this Teaching Commission I believe is best carried out by The Church.
Sixth
This is why the sixth thing is the need for A New Testament Church where all learn after being saved.
In the Church, God calls a five-fold ministry made up of Ministry of Gifts that are about teaching all until all the saved become grown up believers.
I conclude now, this is getting rather long, so I must stop, but I am sure there is more to be said. But, I believe the above points are important to know, following to Salvation.

I have written this Teaching Word in obedience to my Holy Spirit Teacher.
LORD help all new believers to see the beginning and the Important things that will bring them into the fullness of Salvation.
