M I N I S T R Y

I have heard countless number of younger people use this word and when I ask further what they think of it, their response is so far from what I think ministry is.

I hear them say, “I am a world class evangelist, pastor etc.. ”

That’s good though.. but you don’t have to be in ministry to have a world class personality. No, you don’t. The “me, myself, and I” syndrome which plagues younger ministers, worries me so much!

Ministry is not parading buildings, glass auditoriums and cars about. This also is good, but it is NOT ministry!

When you are the centre of attention and attraction in what you call ministry, then I am afraid of such.

Ministry is not SELF PROJECTION.

Ministry IS ALL ABOUT JESUS CHRIST!

In the Old Testament, JESUS was all that was projected. Think about it: when Adam was laid to sleep, a woman came out of his side, when JESUS died, the church came forth from Him.

Even God the Father projected JESUS to the world. The Holy Spirit takes of Christ and reveals to us. JESUS is the centre of attention and attraction even among the Godhead.

If your ministry does not project JESUS, then I am afraid you are doing your own thing.

We are not in ministry for stomach sake and those who are in it for this purpose adds affliction to our chains.

Do not love the LORD because of the bread He gives or when you are filled, you will no longer hunger for him and then turn away. Do NOT love the LORD for ‘things’.

It is very possible to love the ministry and not LOVE the LORD but it is not possible to love the LORD and not love HIS MINISTRY the reason being that true ministry is “ALL ABOUT JESUS!!!
