What Does God Do When One of His Children Sins?
And may I say, anyone and everyone does sin, even those who are saved can still sin!
If a person says they do not sin, then they are told,
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” 1 John 1:8-10
The Scriptures then do say: all can sin and do… and that if some tries to tell you they don’t, then they are lying.
Just mark it down, the Scriptures do precede all such statements.
So in the event that one, “Who is a child of god” [a born again believer in Christ] does commit some sin of his flesh. What will The LORD do, and how will He treat him?
First, we need to understand that *there is a difference between those who are Saved and those who are Unsaved.
The Unsaved are still Lost and Condemned, because they have not believed in Jesus Christ or received him.
“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:18
Now that one who Believes is Saved, they are Sons of God, and their Father is God. This world is not their Home, but they are made to be Heavenly and like The LORD Himself.
They are Children of God, and they belong now to the Family of God.
So how does God treat His Family?
Will God throw away His own Sons and Daughters?
Will He not do everything possible to keep them whole and happy forever?
The Answer is YES. He will keep them, for they are His.
No Child of God will ever be treated less then a Child of God, and He will forever be in the Family.
The Father will never ever forget His Family, and not own them again.
The Father will never deny His Own. He is a perfect Father.
So, since God is a Perfect Father, and we all in Him in His Family — and I might add this — by Grace through Faith — God will never ever be anything but gracious, kind, and loving.
So just how will God deal with a Son or Daughter who sins?
Well, the answer is He will correct them. In the Scriptures it says He will chasten them. What is then Chastening? Read it:
“And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of The LORD, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: for whom The LORD loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” Hebrews 12:5-11
That is right. He will chasten, correct them as a good father should and will.
Please read again and again the Hebrews 12 verses to see all of what chastening is about. I will not take time to break it all down, but believe anyone can find all the truth by simply reading God’s Word.
Now let me add… God will never ever treat the unbelieving world like he does his own family.
The fact is, He will agree that He is not even their Father, but their father is the devil!
They are lost in a kingdom of darkness.
They are sinners unforgiven. He will never ever treat them as he does His Sons. Love them, YES, He will, and work to get them Saved, but they will never be in the favor of God like one of his children!
Now let me say this.
I teach this because there are some here [and in the world around us] that are saying God is not like I just described Him above.
What they are saying is: God is just walking around all the time “Looking to find fault” and if he finds it, he will punish them forever.
That is right — throw them into Hell fire forever — simply because He is a Holy God and they have sinned.
These people describe God as one who would be like a “Big Bad Bully” and that he is mad all the time.
God is not Mad — He is LOVE — and God Loves His Family!
It may be that the chastening of The LORD will not be fun and games… I agree..
And it will be rough at times. God may have to teach us a lesson the hard way..
But, the lessons taught will be very helpful.
But one thing again for sure… God will never ever leave, deny, or throw away his Children. He is everlasting love and unconditional love… Forever!
Added verses to consider:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: that in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: in whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3-12

Thank you for this teaching bro, indeed God is chastening me because I have been undergoing a trial since the past nine years, but God has been faithful. I exalt His holy name. Halleluyah Amein.

1 John 3:6 No one who abides in him sins no one who sins has seen him or knows him.
Let’s not just read verses to condemn others point them towards hope read it all. Our life is supposed to be in Christ Jesus he is not the author of sin. We may all be in different places in our walk let not this diktat our thinking and attitude towards others. Christ and Christ alone is the standard and he is now our life let’s look up and not back words just some things to think about.
