What Do You See as “Mission Accomplished”?
At the core of your being is a central navigating system.
Whatever has been engraved in your mind, through multi-zillion layers of thoughts, desires, wishes built into the mind as the ideal picture of an accomplished life becomes the central navigating system for your life.
This central navigating system, when it has taken root and form in your mind, becomes the propellant for your life.
When Satan came to tempt The LORD Jesus Christ, he took him to a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms, power, glories of this world in a moment of time — making a promise, that it will be given to him – if only He bowed.
“And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me, and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine,” Luke 4:5-7.
The first move in that trial, was to fill the mind of The LORD Jesus Christ with visions, ideas, dreams, thoughts enough to form a picture in the mind of The LORD Jesus, of what success and accomplishment would mean.
This first thing in this move was to create a picture of a “good life” in the mind of Jesus, enough to make that the central navigating system of his mind — the picture of an ideal and accomplished life.
‘Cos anyone who buys into the “picture of the good life” the enemy creates through billions and zillions of layers of thoughts, ideas, dreams, hopes and aspirations – enough to make it the “hope of their future and picture of accomplishment” — will certainly take the other steps required — being to bow down and worship.
The Apostle Paul speaking about how terribly disconnected, disoriented and at war the carnal mind is from God, wrote this,
“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God,” Romans 8:7-8.
There are times and seasons in a persons life where they will have their high mountain experience — both from The LORD and from Satan.
The LORD will come in the times of visitation, presenting to you His preferred will for your life, outlining what lies ahead in the path, with insights into what it will cost to take the path of righteousness — as we see happened with The LORD Jesus Christ the moment He was baptized by John the Baptist.
“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17.
So also, the time would come, when Satan will exercise his right to make you an offer — then you will be taken to a high mountain, and shown in a moment of time, all the glories, power, fame, influence that will be given to you — if you take the path that’s laid for you to take by Satan.
Preceding this significant time of trial, will be years after years of an inward working in the mind, where billions and zillions of layers of thoughts would be flashing through your mind, in a bid to create a picture of an “ideal and accomplished life”.
Let’s make this simple.
It could be your constant admiration of peoples life of wealth, opulence, fame and extravagance on social media — so much so that it becomes the dream and desire of your life to walk in that shoes.
For ministers, it could be your constant admiration of the fame, celebration, and followership that popular ministers enjoy that you lust after — so much so that your greatest dream is to attain that status in society — rather than the sincere desire to be of service to The LORD Jesus Christ and His Kingdom in whatever capacity He entrusts to you.
The LORD Jesus Christ spoke to Ananias of Apostle Paul and His commissioning to bear The Gospel, speaking of how great things Paul the Apostle would suffer for the sake of The LORD.
“But The LORD said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel. For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake,” Acts 9:15–16.
Only hearts and minds completely sold out in obedience to The LORD, in total denial of self, to see the will of God fulfilled, can prevail against the lurings of this world.
“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work,” John 4:34.
So I ask, what is the central navigating system in your mind.
What is the “Picture of An Accomplished Mission” in your mind?
