What Are We Waiting for?
A polar bear doesn’t wait for food to jump into his mouth and a wolf doesn’t wait for prey to come trotting round the corner.
They both go searching for it, and when they find it, they jump on it.
I was still scratching my head over these thoughts when The LORD showed me this scripture,
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12.
I asked Him, “What’s this you’re showing me, LORD?”
“Ah, My son, you so often ask for things, small thing or big things, then you just sit back and wait!
Do you ever consider that maybe, just maybe, I’m waiting for you to show a little bit of urgency, even desperation?
How often do you see a ‘door of opportunity’ but do nothing about it? How often do you push that door?”
“It’s the same with the coming Awakening, Renewal, or even Revival.
You quote the Scripture to Me; you Pray, telling me how you need — not just want — Revival, yet your ‘Amen’ stops any further effort.
Instead, you wait for Me to move!
You wait for My Spirit to awaken you by ‘turning up’ in your meetings.
I judge your requests by the motives, agenda, and the state of your heart.
When the polar bear or the wolf goes hunting, they do just that — they actively seek what they are looking for, and when they spot it, they go for it with every fiber of their being.
You, on the other hand, go hunting and wait for something to hop into your pot — you ask Me, then you sit back and wait for Me to do all the work.
Certainly, I want to hear your Prayers; I want to see your hearts desire.
I also want to see you actively pursuing that which you pray for.
Many times I see and hear you asking for things, and the very act of asking seems to satisfy your conscience to the extent that you are happy to just sit and wait — almost hoping you won’t have to do any more saying “‘After all, LORD, I did ask — but it couldn’t have been Your Will as you didn’t answer!’”
At other times, when I do ‘turn up’ as you say, you revel in My Presence, then tell everyone how you ‘had a great Revival Meeting’ — without a thought that you could have had the same thing the next day, and the days after too.
It’s as though you only want My Presence, My Power, even Renewal or Revival, at your convenience?
The opportunity is right there in front of you, and you pull back; you hesitate.
A wolf or a polar bear would starve if they hesitated. Why aren’t you starving?”
That’s the big question — why aren’t we starving?
Perhaps because we’re satisfied with the scraps we have?
God can do anything He wants to, because He is sovereign. But I believe He wants us to partner with Him too.
The New Year is just around the corner. I believe The LORD is calling us to step out in 2025 in such a way as we’ve never done before.
Don’t just knock on Doors. Don’t just push a few Doors.
Go find new Doors to knock and open and enter.
It’s time for us to ‘go out on a limb’ — but I believe we’ll find that the ‘limb’ is more of a test God has deliberately placed before us!
When we do, we’ll discover just how God first prepares the way for us.
Then He guides us to the door and we shall watch it open right in front of us
I also heard recently that we think we’ve been asking BIG, but we have barely scratched the surface of The LORD’s Provision for us.
He is calling now for us to ask outrageously — above and beyond anything we’ve previously imagined — then watch Him move for us in response to and relative to our faith.
As Wigglesworth said, “Only believe!”
