We’re Walking in our Own Ways
Have you ever been taken in a vision to a place you’re never ever going to find yourself in in life, and not even in your dreams?
Prophet Jeremiah found himself taken to the porters house in order to hear the Word of the LORD and deliver same to His people.
Prophetic Ezekiel was taken to the grave (valley of dry bones) to hear the Word of the LORD.
Therefore, let not what I want to share here cause any mixed feeling or raised eyebrows. I even queried myself when I woke up.
It was on the 30th of July into the 31st that this vision came. I saw myself at the popular Kalakuta Republic of late Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti in Lagos state of Nigeria. I have never been to this place in real life, but as soon as I was taken there, I knew exactly where I was.
I was made to go into a shrine where I saw various activities going on. Some were singing and dancing while others smoking marijuana. It seemed as though Fela was still alive as that is possibly the reason why such activities could continue, even after his death, over a decade ago.
Just while I was pondering over that, I saw Fela walked up to me. I was conscious of the fact that he was dead while he was heading towards me. Then I asked him how it was that activities at the shrine were still actively going on even at his absence.
His answer broke me to tears. He said “The people who are here continued after my legacy of loving and caring”
I was still pondering on that when I said to him that he was already dead, and how could it be that it seemed that he is still so much more there in person. At this point I felt he was going to fight me for calling him a dead man, but instead he took me behind the shrine, through a door, and pointed out a building to me. “That’s my house,” he said then added, “Most of the songs I sang, were not all my pains expressed. But the pains of many people who cried to me for justice.”
He told me how much of people he cared for and kept resounding two words to me: loving and caring.
I immediately wept, that the Church had failed in these two areas.
While I was weeping, I saw the first century believers and how they succeeded at loving and caring which was and still is, the Legacy Jesus left behind.
Then I saw how the churches after the first century church began to fall short of these two virtues until this generation. Oh how we have fallen….
The LORD is calling His Church and her leaders to return to loving and caring not just preaching.
The gospel of the Kingdom is also a social gospel with a social practice. It hurts to know that we have so missed it and walking in our own ways!
