We See the Kingdom by The Holy Spirit
One of the rich blessings God our Father has bestowed upon us is our ability to see spiritual things.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Messiah.” Ephesians 1:3 (Revelation 7:10)
When we believed in Messiah, we were born again and began to see The Kingdom through the enlightened eyes of our hearts. (Ephesians 1:18; John 3:3, 33)
Paul prayed that the eyes of our heart would be enlightened to see spiritual things.
“[I always pray] that the God’s of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son].
And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by The Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people), and [so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe.” Ephesians 1:17-19 AMP.
The eyes of our heart are heart are enlightened during our regeneration.
In the prologue to regeneration, Paul wrote to Titus, we first see how The Grace of God works in our salvation.
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age; looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Yeshua the Messiah, who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one despise you.” Titus 2:11-14.
Then, we get a reminder of how to “walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls us into His own kingdom and glory.” (1 Thessalonian 2:12; Ephesians 4:1; Colossians 1:10)
“Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men. For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.” Titus 3:1-3.
After the washing of our regeneration, we see spiritual things.
In the washing of regeneration, we see:
- God our Savior. We are saved by His grace. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
- the washing of new birth/regeneration and renewal by The Holy Spirit.
- Jesus the Messiah, our Savior, who baptized us with The Holy Spirit. (Acts 11:16-18)
“But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth/regeneration and renewal by The Holy Spirit. This is the Spirit He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we would become heirs with the hope of eternal life. This saying is trustworthy. And I want you to emphasize these things, so that those who have believed God will take care to devote themselves to good deeds. These things are excellent and profitable for the people.” Titus 3:4-8 (Colossians 1:9-13)
In Revelations, the eyes of our hearts are enlightened as we see the kingdom.
“I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death. Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.” Revelation 12:10-12.
“After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation, power, and glory belong to our God; for his judgments are true and righteous. For he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and he has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.” Revelation 19:12.
“I looked, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders. The number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!”” Revelation 5:11-12.
“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could count, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”” Revelation 7:9-10.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will grant the right to eat from the tree of life in the Paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7 (Revelation 2-3)
