Message
The LORD is calling us to step into a 3-month special assignment of prayer. Today I want to show you how you can pray and what to pray for.
The LORD is restoring the watchmen
“I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.” Habakkuk 2:1 NIV.
We are in an urgent need to rebuild our walls of intercession. Something new is coming the first of the year and we need to bridge the gap until then.
The LORD is calling people who might not consider themselves to be intercessors to step into a 3 month special task force from Heaven on assignment to pray and fill the gaps from October through the end of December.
“Unless The LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless The LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” Psalm 127:1 NKJV.
Since many of these major watchmen of The LORD have gone to Heaven, The LORD is now preparing people to step into the place of a watchmen in prayer.
Praying with power
“One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.” Luke 6:12 NIV.
You don’t have to spend the entire night or day praying, but The LORD might be leading you to do this—or at least with greater focus.
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 NIV.
You can be in a place of praying and communing with God all the time. This can be done by directing your thoughts to Him or by taking moments when He moves on you to pray and worship.
Another key is to combine your prayers with worship in your mind or with others. Rejoice and be thankful! As you do this, it will change the spiritual atmosphere around you.
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:19 NIV.
There is power when we agree together. This does not mean that you should not pray alone — but if you have strongholds, it might take greater authority in numbers to break them.
Jesus the Intercessor
“Christ Jesus who died — more than that, who was raised to life — is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Romans 8:34 NIV.
Right now Jesus is interceding for you at the right hand of the Father. Once you grasp this revelation that Jesus is praying for you, then you can have greater authority in your prayers.
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus… ” Ephesians 2:6 NIV.
You are seated with Christ in the spiritual realm and when you pray you have great authority. T he key is to allow your spirit to connect with The LORD — far above the things around you.
Praying in the Spirit
“So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding.” 1 Corinthians 14:15 NIV.
Praying in the Spirit can be in tongues — but does not have to be. You can pray from a list, “free flow” with your requests or sing your prayers to The LORD.
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2 NIV.
In conclusion, The LORD is calling us to devote more time in prayer and be alert to what is happening over the next 3 months through the first of the year.
Will you join me and others in praying?
Blessings,
