The last week of January — the turning point to the year 2024 — our calendar.

It’s 5784 years (approximately) since God began His history with mankind (the Hebrew calendar).

Almost 6 millennia ago — The LORD started walking with man, His prize creation.

The LORD God hasn’t stopped moving yet. Despite mankind’s rebellion, broken promises, and sin, our Creator has not once thrown in the towel to his original idea — which was born out of love, desire, and a yearning to complete His dreams: a family of His own to walk, talk and look like Him.

God hasn’t dropped the ball on this, his family has.

The miracle of our enduring existence is that God doesn’t give up easily — He is still throwing us the ball.

The decisions for our survival is in our court. Our Creator has allowed us input in personal and even national decisions. In a strange way —- we write our own epitaph!

So America — what is your choice?

How do you want the finale to read?

In our personal lives — what few sentences could sum us up?

I’m rather fond of words about Enoch — the 7th from Adam,

“‘Enoch walked with God, and then he was no more…” Genesis.5:24

What a glorious way to sum up perfect obedience: just continue on — and never let go of God’s hand!

It is not a futile waste of time to think about our end-of-life cycle — it is highly purposed and productive.

There is no morbidity in wondering about the summation of our time we are renting space (our breathe) on this planet — its a wonderful exercise of faith.

As I’m at that age where I’m now going to more funerals than weddings. I realize that the soberness of the reality of it all is a good way to take spiritual inventory.

Check in with the designer of the blueprint of YOU — are we where we need to be with God?

Are we still walking with Him, holding his hand daily?

That’s all that really matters!

Of course we don’t know where we’re going, we weren’t designed with an “I know everything ahead in time” button. God holds the patent on that!

Just work the way you were created to: stand upright, go forward and walk with God.

Where we will end up, is in Him, with Him.

The unity of His Holy Spirit will accomplish it all, in the Son, back to the Father.

It’s a flawless plan. Start walking!

Yet this Plan — to redeem all of Humanity — would need a deliverer to deliver man from himself.

From Genesis 12 to the last pages of The Book of Revelation — that Plan has been unfolding in every generation on earth — and is fulfilled in the Messiah, Jesus.
