In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. He did not need to do it. It was of no benefit to Him.

He created mankind and gave them life and the ability to relate to Him. He did not need to do it. It was of no benefit to Him.

He placed them in a beautiful garden where they were able to relate personally to Him. He did not need to do it. It was of no benefit to Him.

They rebelled against Him and rejected the relationship they had with Him. He could have destroyed them for this. He did not need them. They were of no benefit to Him.

God desired the relationship to be restored. He did not need to do it. It was of no benefit to Him.

He saw mankind could not do it so organised it Himself. He did not need to do it. It was of no benefit to Him.

God came to earth to restore the relationship and to teach us how He required us to live. He did not need to do it. It was of no benefit to Him.

He then died to meet the requirements to restore the relationship with mankind lost through t heir rebellion. He did not need to do it. It was of no benefit to Him.

He has prepared a beautiful place for mankind to be with Him in eternity. He did not need to do it. It was of no benefit to Him.

So what does God ask us to do for all these things He has done which are of no benefit to Him?

He asks us to love Him and develop the intimate relationship He desires with us and to be thankful and appreciative of all He has done for us and out of love for Him to do what He asks us to do in regards to telling others about Him and helping them know Him like we know Him.
