Are you a Warrior or a Worrier?
Over the years there has been an increase of natural disasters, viral and bacterial infections, and the infamous economic recession. Whereas some people have come to accept the status quo, it shouldn’t be the norm for the child of God. However, some of God’s children have gone with the tide and instead of experiencing victories they have stooped so low in worry and foreboding.
Regardless of your circumstances, do not give in to worry. Worry is a sign of mistrust in God; you doubt His ability to help you and turn the situation for your good. You are measuring the greatness of your problem with His ability to handle it. You are afraid that maybe this time, He will let you down. Your eyes are on the deadline, and the urgency of your need has birthed fear instead of faith. Worry is a work in recession; it is not a sign of being responsible but being unbelieving. Jesus said; “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?“ Matthew 6:25. There is no need to worry, keep your focus on the more important things of life. Keep your eyes on the ability of God to supernaturally give you the victory you need instead of the urgency of the need or the gravity of the problem. After all, worrying is never fruitful but futile; it magnifies the problem and leaves you feeling more helpless, hopeless and powerless. Worry never achieves anything worthwhile. “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” Matthew 6:27, these are the words of Jesus.
Worry creates more problems than it solves, since it solves nothing. What began as a small concern, grows into a serious matter to worry about, it degenerates into stress and depression, leaving a chronic disease in its wake. Worry makes you a worrier instead of a warrior who obtains victory in all matters of life. You have to choose not to worry, it is up to you. No matter your circumstances, if you make up your mind never to worry, you have it made. It is your duty, not even God’s; He told you not to worry. So do not sit there praying that you do not worry, make up your mind not to worry and God’s grace will enable you. Listen; “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7. When God’s word says; ‘do not’, ‘be not’ and ‘be’ or ‘do’, it is as clear as it is written that that is your responsibility. You cannot blame your environment, man, or God, for not doing as the word says. Instead of worrying, pray; it will bring peace amidst the storms. It is peace beyond understanding, in other words, peace that defies facts, figures and feelings, hallelujah!!
The best way to war is through worship! Worshippers are warriors because they keep their focus on God. In worship you magnify God; you sing songs of praise, you make a joyful noise, you shout to the Lord with a voice of triumph and dance gladly, which are all manifestations of victory. You are declaring that Oh God, this challenge is turning for my good. I have already overcome and no matter what I see or feel, victory is assured. This is the strategy Jehoshaphat used when he was outnumbered and overwhelmed by an impending attack from three nations. Instead of worrying, he sought God and received a prophetic word which strengthened him. He devised a strategy of praise and worshipping God. “And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.” Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another” Second Chronicles 20:21-23. This is true warring, it is not worrying but worshipping God and He takes care of the situation. So today choose to be a true warrior and quit being a worrier. Whether it is about your kids, finances, health and marriage, remember that God is with you. He is your God and He has your back covered, Hallelujah!
Amen!
