Walk in the Fear of God, not of man!
I saw a gate called, “The fear of the LORD, and a gate called the fear of man!”
Last night I had a powerful dream that I feel strongly impressed to share with you. In this dream, I saw two ancient gates and at each gate there stood an angel, fully dressed in armour.
In my dream, I approached the first gate and my eyes were immediately drawn to words that were deeply engraved upon the hard stone above the ancient gate. The words were “The fear of the LORD” and underneath these words was written, “The gate to the way of wisdom,” Proverbs 1:7.
In the dream, I pondered for a moment, when suddenly the angel spoke to me and said, “This is the gate that leads to great faith, great fruitfulness and the fullness of the wisdom and knowledge of God, but few travel this way!”
Then I looked upon the second gate, and there deeply engraved upon the hard stone above this gate, were the words, “The fear of man” and underneath these words was written, “The gate to the way of the world,” Proverbs 29:25.
Again I pondered for a brief moment, and then the angel spoke and said to me, “This is the gate that leads to fame, fortune and the wisdom and knowledge of the world, and many travel this way!”
Suddenly, I saw many in the body of Christ standing at a crossroads, facing these two ancient gates. I watched as many quickly approached the gate called, “The fear of the LORD,” but the angel who stood guarding the entrance of the gate asked a question:
“Beloved, to gain access, are you willing to forsake all others?
To fully surrender and humble your heart before God?
Will you serve Him in sincerity and in truth?
Will you obey His voice at any cost, and not to rebel?
Are you willing to serve Him faithfully with a clean, true and pure heart?
Are you willing to worship Him in the beauty of His holiness?
Beloved, will you hate the fruits of the flesh which is jealousy, envy and hatred?
Are you willing to fully trust God and fully submit to His ways?”
I watched closely, as the angel eagerly waited for a response, but one by one, as many heard the question, many turned aside and walked away and turned towards the ancient gate, called the “Fear of man!”
Now I could see the angel at this gate who also stood at the place of entry and as many quickly approached the gate, I heard the angel speak, “Beloved, now watch for there is warning to all those that would enter in. This gate leads to the way of the wisdom and knowledge of the world, be alert and aware, for there are many hidden traps and snares!”
Now in spite of the angel’s clear and direct warning, I watched as many proceeded through the ancient gate called, “The fear of man,” with little care or consideration of what lay ahead of them. I watched as many walked through the gate with looks of great anticipation and expectation. The dream ended!
When I woke, I felt deeply distressed and yet deeply moved in my spirit to begin to pray and intercede for the body of Christ, the Holy Spirit began to reveal many things to me. I cried out to God for many that are standing at the crossroads facing these two gates.
In my prayer time, as I cried out the Holy Spirit began to show me again the gate called “The fear of the LORD.” He showed me that this gate leads to the way of wisdom, and therein are the keys to the hidden mysteries and divine revelations of his glory and great power.
He showed me that here in this place of the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God we will find new life, new hope, greater faith, greater increase, greater fruitfulness, greater abundance, and our true inheritance as sons and daughters of God.
Then He quickened to me, Noah, who was chosen by God to build and prepare the ark!
“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, he was moved with ‘godly fear’ and prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith,” Hebrews 11:7.
Then the Spirit lead me to the story of Jacob, and the vision of the ladder.
“Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.” and he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” Genesis 28:16-17.
Then the Holy Spirit reminded me of Hezekiah, and how he treated the prophet Micah, who had prophesied harm against Jerusalem.
“Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah ever put him to death? Did he not fear the LORD and seek the LORD’s favor? And the LORD relented concerning the doom which he had pronounced against them!” Jeremiah 26:19.
Here we see how the hand of God relented.
“Friends, the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him,” Psalm 147:11.
“Joshua encouraged the people to “fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness,” Joshua 24:14.
“Joseph said to them on the third day, “Do this and live, for I fear God,” Genesis 42:18.
The Holy Spirit spoke deeply to my heart this morning, and showed me that the reason why so many in the body of Christ are walking powerlessly and in extreme poverty is because they have entered through the gate called “The fear of man.” They have squandered their gifts and talents for the fame and fortune and the wisdom of the world, they have turned their backs on the gate that leads to true life and increase for the way of the worlds wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
Paul reminds us in Philippians 2:12 that we should work out (not work for) our own salvation with “fear and trembling.”
Friends, do not be deceived for the anointing, authority and the fear of the LORD go hand in hand. Without the fear of the LORD we are totally powerless, passionless and poverty stricken. The favour of God is far from our lives, we strive and struggle through life without success or victory.
“Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come,” Revelation 14:7.
Prophetically, I believe that we as the body Christ stand at the crossroads of kingdom destiny in this hour and season. We cannot, and must not any longer, choose to neglect, negate and water-down the vital importance of walking in the fear and reverence of the LORD.
We must stop walking carelessly through the gate of ‘the fear of man.’ We must repent, return and be re-positioned and realigned with the gate that leads to the way of wisdom which is the fear of LORD.
We must come prepared to forsake the praises of man and the fame and fortune that comes with the fullness of the wisdom of the world.
We must become ‘the fearless, faithful sons and daughters that are filled with the fear of the LORD,’ walking in greater power, greater authority, greater anointing and supernatural abundance.

Pr 8:13 (KJV)
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
