Victorious Living
Victory is the heritage of God’s child. We are born again to win, destined for victory in all circumstances. However, enjoying this victory daily is another issue all together. Whatever is legally ours by virtue of being born again should be experienced in real life on a daily basis. Victorious living should be a reality in your life.
In Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, it is written; “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:54-57. Death was swallowed up in victory at the resurrection of Christ; its sting was atoned for at the cross and when we accepted Christ this victory was delivered unto us. Hallelujah! You are victorious over death in all its different formats, and its consequences. It is important that you recognize this and become thankful for it. Thanksgiving is the foundation for enjoying this victory. When faced with life’s challenges, opposition and stubborn situations, thank God for the victory in Christ. Once you arm yourself with a victory consciousness as a foregone conclusion in every circumstance you will be thankful, because you know and you are assured that you will come out on top. The most common refuge for many when faced with challenges is prayer, which is commendable. However, even in prayer many do not pray effectively because instead of presenting their requests to God the right way, they present the problem.
The bible says; “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7. Do not be anxious, do not fear and do not allow yourself to worry whatever the case. When the bible says, ‘do not’, it implies it is within your power not to worry. So when it feels like you are about to worry, declare; “I will not worry, I refuse to worry in Jesus’ name!” The most important part of this scripture is; ‘…with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God..’ There is a lot in these ten words; you pray with thanksgiving because victory is assured. You thank God for the answer of these requests in advance by, because victory is your definite end result. So you pray with a thankful heart, not in somber mood and complaining, because you are aware of the outcome of your prayers. Secondly, you make your request known and not your problem like many do. Here is the difference; the problem is what you are experiencing, but the request is what you want to see as answer; it is the victory you expect. Instead of talking about how you have suffered for long and how painful that tumor is, ask God for the healing and pain-free body that you want. Make your desired result known not your unwanted problem. Hallelujah.
So next time you are praying, pray like this; ‘Father I thank you for the healing of my body, thank you because by Christ’s stripes I was healed. I count it done and I thank you LORD for my healing in Jesus’ name’. You can also pray; ‘Lord I thank you for your provision, I need this amount of money (specific) and I know you supply my needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus, thank you for releasing it to me’. Here you didn’t have to talk about how you are tired of the pain and how long that tumor has taken in your body. You didn’t have to talk about how badly God should bail you out, but you made the request for provision. Friends, this is victorious living; you pray this way, the peace of God will be an inevitable result in your life. Remember as a child of God you are victorious regardless of what you are going through. Victory is your birthright; choose to walk in it and to enjoy it daily. Cultivate this consciousness, live a life full of thanksgiving to God for the victory you have in Christ. When praying, make your requests known, not your problems and God’s peace will herald an assured answer. This is all possible by faith, believing and doing the word. Enjoy a victorious week.
