Use the Power of the Tongue — Eat It’s Fruit!
Use The POWER of The Tongue — Eat It’s Fruit!
The Holy Spirit says a most amazing thing: Death and life are in THE POWER OF THE TONGUE, and those who love it will eat its fruit!
Think about it. It isn’t your brain (which controls all the functions of the body) that has power with life and death in it. It isn’t your heart (which pumps life-containing, life-critical blood in the body) that has power with life and death in it.
Of all the body of man, it is that pinkish piece of flesh in your mouth which has POWER with death and life in it!
Proverbs 18:21 says POWERFULLY that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”
And like dynamite, James 3:6, 8 EXPLOSIVELY adds that the tongue is a fire…the tongue is full of deadly poison…
Huh? A FIRE in our mouth? A containerful of deadly poison in our mouth!
You must believe and deploy this serious Truth of God. We have a fire in our mouth; we have tongueful of deadly poison in our mouth; we have POWER in our mouth. And there are death and life in the tongue’s POWER!
This is marvellously amazing and energising when you meditate on it all.
Just think about it: a small part of the human body, THAT flexible, rollable piece of flesh in your mouth is a fire, is full of deadly poison and has POWER with death and life in it.
The marvel and mystery that is man! Created by our WONDERFUL God!
No wonder David exclaimed: “I am awesomely, wonderfully made!” (Psalm 139:14 TLV).
Death and life are in the power of the tongue
The death part of the power of the tongue is for destroying the devil and the works of the devil. The death part of the power of the tongue (the fire and deadly poison) is to be used to destroy the enemy, not other people (with ungodly words).
Again, The Holy Spirit notes very seriously that the tongue is a fire… the tongue is full of deadly poison. This poison, instead of being released into the devil to destroy him and his works, men use it to burn and poison one another.
My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
Like fiery, poisoned arrows, ungodly words said to others and about others strike them with blazing fire and deadly poison.
This is why and how unkind words wound a person, seriously burning and poisoning them — literally (only not physically).
( Ask The LORD to heal you of those wounds, and other people you may have so wounded. )
Our tongue is to be used to bless our God and Father, and to bless man created in The Image of God — not hurt one another with serious burns and poisoning, (James 3:9,10).
Our tongue is to be used to bless God (PRAISE Him, speak well of Him), and the tongue is to be used for our deliverance (ourselves and others) and for the destruction of the devil.
When, by The Utterance of The Holy Spirit, we speak kind words; when, by The Spirit, we speak edification, encouragement and comfort to men, when, with The Holy Spirit’s Anointing we speak The Living and POWERFUL Word of God, the devil is destroyed and men are delivered by The POWER of Christ! PRAISE The LORD!
Prophesy Victory for your victory!
When you believe and speak by The Utterance of The Holy Spirit, God watches over His Word to perform It swiftly.
“And since we have the same Spirit of Faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,” 2 Corinthians 4:13.
You must believe and speak your victory for your victory.
A youth grasped this indispensable revelation and used it to overcome SPECTACULARLY in the most talked-about contest in human history: David verses Goliath.
With the power of the tongue, David prophesied victory for his victory.
“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in The Name of The LORD of hosts, The God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day The LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that The LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is The LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17:45-47.
The Word of God is Living and POWERFUL (Hebrews 4:12). When The Word is combined, engaged and deployed with the power of the tongue as led by The Holy Spirit, no power — human or demonic, can stand in the way.
Your tongue, used with The POWER of God in prayer and declaration of His Word will counter and utterly destroy any satanic situation and bring SWIFT deliverance.
I want you to notice and note something. With his tongue, Goliath,
“cursed David by his gods. and the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!” 1 Samuel 17:43-44.
And with his tongue, David countered the Philistine:
“I come to you in The Name of The LORD of hosts, The God of the armies of Israel, Whom you have defied. This day The LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that The LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is The LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands,” 1 Samuel 17:45-47.
Goliath cursed David by demons. David counter-cursed Goliath with The Word of God. And he prevailed over the Philistine. Like Pharaoh, Goliath was a type of Satan. (Curse and destroy the evil one with The Word!).
Had David not acted so swiftly and forcefully by The POWER of The Holy Spirit, he would have been easily destroyed by Goliath.
Please, by The Grace of God, I am teaching you something here. The times we are in are so evil and more threatening than Goliath was to Israel.
You must use the power of your tongue in prayer, in declaring and proclaiming The Word of God by The Utterance of The Holy Spirit.
If any ungodly word/thing is spoken/done to you, or against God’s purpose whatsoever, you must counter and condemn it! Immediately! Cancel it by The Blood of Jesus. Reverse and replace it with The Word of God.
Remember what The Holy Spirit says?
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of The LORD , And their righteousness is from Me,” Says The LORD.” Isaiah 54:17.
These days, we must daily, nightly live and act with Kingdom Force! For the days are evil.
As The LORD said,
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now The Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.“ Matthew 11:12.
You are a Divine soldier, “a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3). Always speak and act like one. Forbid and permit with The Divine Authority He has given you in Matthew 18:18.
Use your tongue by The Utterance of The Holy Spirit in prayer, in declaration, in decrees, in preaching, in speaking edification, exhortation and comfort to men; in destroying the devil and the works of the devil.
Once upon a time, Peter came against The LORD Jesus Christ and God’s GLORIOUS Purpose for His Life and OUR Eternal Life. And Jesus condemned that tongue!
The LORD had been telling His disciples about His immanent Death and Resurrection.
“Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, LORD; this shall not happen to You!” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Matthew 16:22-23.
God depends on our tongue to pray to Him that “Your Kingdom come; Your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” Our prayers according to His Will move God to act in the earth.
Your tongue can move The ALMIGHTY God! Get your tongue going for God.
Proclaim The LORD’s Death with your tongue
A most POWERFUL way to use the tongue is to take The Communion, The Bread and Cup of The LORD.
“For as often as you eat this Bread and drink this Cup, you proclaim The LORD’s Death till He comes,” 1 Corinthians 11:26.
According to Oxford and Merriam-Webster dictionaries respectively, to proclaim something is to:
1: Announce officially or publicly.
2: Indicate clearly.
1a: To declare publicly, typically insistently, proudly, or defiantly and in either speech or writing: ANNOUNCE
1b: To give outward indication of: SHOW
2: To declare or declare to be solemnly, officially, or formally
3: To praise or glorify openly or publicly : EXTOL.
The tongue and the mouth are the visible organs of speech.
We take The Communion on our tongue, in our mouth. And when we do, we praise and glorify The LORD Jesus Christ, proclaiming: Worthy is The Lamb Who was slain… You have redeemed us by Your BLOOD, yes, You have ransomed us from the power of the grave! (Revelation 5:8-14; Psalm 49:15; Hosea 13:14).
Christ is HIGHLY EXALTED when we celebrate and proclaim His Death, (Philippians 2:9). There is no higher praise to God.
When we eat The Bread and drink The Cup of The LORD, we praise-worthily and triumphantly declare The Cross of our LORD Jesus Christ in Heaven and on earth and under the earth.
Proclaim The LORD’s Death. Declare His Resurrection. There is no greater praise and worship. There is no greater declaration of our deliverance from the power of the grave.
There is no greater display of the defeat of the devil and his angels. There is no greater trumpet of triumph!
Hallelu-YAH! Oh GLORY TO GOD!
By The Communion, the shouts of victory, The Victory of The Cross shakes and overthrows Satan’s throne in the earth, throughout the heavens (the galaxies), and rises in GREAT chorus of praise to The Glory of God in Heaven.
By The Communion, God leads us in triumph in Christ and through us diffuses The Fragrance of The Cross in every place for our victory but the defeat of the devil.
In celebrating The Cross with The Communion often, we proclaim The LORD’s Death saying that, “Satan, you are judged, cast out (overthrown), and destroyed according to John 12:31, 16:11; Hebrews 2:14,15; Colossians 2:14,15 and 1 John 3:8.”
Thus, by taking The Communion often, “we preach Christ crucified” (1 Corinthians 1:23).
“For as often as you eat this Bread and drink this Cup, you proclaim The LORD’s Death till He comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:26.
Yes, we declare and establish The Cross of our LORD Jesus Christ for:
- His PRAISE and GLORY: what He has done for us. The Sacrifice of Himself for our sins — to deliver us out of eternal death; and then gave us Eternal Life!
We MUST be thankful for this always.
There are so many people dropping into the blazing hell right now even as you are reading this. And there are many more there already — all of them locked up in the BLAZING fire and torment FOREVER!
But we have The Grace and Mercy of God not to go there. But we have Eternal Life! Oh, we MUST always thank The LORD Jesus Christ for His MERCIFUL Gift of Salvation to us.
Take The Communion, celebrate Jesus. Praise Him. Thank Him abundantly.
As The LORD Himself said,
“Take, eat; this is My Body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”……
“…..This Cup is The New Covenant in My Blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me,” 1 Corinthians 11:24, 25.
Ponder the command and obey. The LORD Jesus says: “…DO THIS in remembrance of Me….This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.“
The COMMAND is to honour and magnify Him by The Communion — in remembrance of His Death for our Life, Eternal Life. We must do this often. Daily. (You can take The Communion after supper, as Jesus did with His 12 disciples).
In Matthew 26:26 and Luke 24:49 the word “blessed” is “eulogeó” (Greek), which means to “to speak well of, praise.”
When we take The Communion on our tongue, we speak well of, we PRAISE The LORD for His Death and Sacrifice for our sins, saying:
“You are worthy…For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your Blood…
……..Worthy is The Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honour and glory and blessing!” Revelation 5:9, 12.
In sum, by taking The Communion, we proclaim The LORD’s Death for:
- His PRAISE
- our deliverance (forgiveness of our sins, healing, protection, provision, etc.)
- the destruction of the devil and the works of the devil,
Therefore, take The Communion very often and shout to God with the voice of triumph, saying:
“In Jesus’ Name, I eat The Bread and drink The Cup of The LORD.
I proclaim The LORD’s Death till He comes. LORD Jesus, I do this in remembrance of You.
I THANK You; I PRAISE You. You are WORTHY!
By Your BLOOD You ransomed us from the power of the grave. By Your BLOOD You redeemed us from death.
O death, The LORD is your plagues! O grave The LORD is your destruction! (Hosea 13:14).
Thank You LORD for TRIUMPHING over them in The Cross.”
Jesus has done what He said He will do according to The Scripture (Hosea 13:14). Let us PRAISE Him JOYFULLY for doing it for us.
“I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O death, I will be your plagues! O grave, I will be your destruction! Pity is hidden from My Eyes.” Hosea 13:14.
The tell-tale importance of the tongue
You probably ever had a physician tell you: “Say aahhh” and “Stick your tongue out.” As a child, apart from the injection syringe touching my skin, it was usually a discomforting moment for me at the hospital or clinic when told to do so. But it was necessary to do so for my own good.
My point is that, medically, physiologically, socially and spiritually, the tongue tells and does a lot, the lot of our lives. And what shall I say about the role of the tongue in eating and swallowing?
The tongue is so important to our lives. But it is also very dangerous if misused. Let your tongue tell tales for God.
By The Holy Spirit of God, use your tongue to please God, not speak evil. To see good days, you must restrain your tongue from evil.
“For “He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.” 1 Peter 3:10.
Meditate on verses 20 and 21 of Proverbs 18 and Godly deploy your tongue for Divine results.
“A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.“
GODLY love and use the power of the tongue and eat it’s fruit.
The Three-Fold Cord of Divine FIRE!
Finally, brethren, according to Scripture, a three-fold cord is so strong.
Our God is A Consuming Fire (Hebrews 12:29), The Word of The LORD is like fire (Jeremiah 23:29), and the tongue is a fire (James 3:6). The Word is God.
Therefore, when you speak by The Utterance of The Holy Spirit, when you declare The Word by The Spirit with your tongue, you set off and send forth the three-fold cord of Divine Fire to deliver and destroy. Deliver what is of God, but destroy the devil and his works with your tongue.
By The Word, God created all things by speaking them into manifestation. Speak your breakthrough, speak your victory into manifestation by The Word, depending on The Utterance of The Holy Spirit.
Use your tongue and fight with the three-fold cord of Divine Fire. To root out and to pull down (pulling down strongholds), to destroy and to throw down (Satan’s throne), to build and to plant (The Throne of Glory, The Throne of Grace, The Throne of God and of The Lamb, yes, The Kingdom of God).
Pray to our Father in Heaven: “Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done on earth as It is in Heaven.”
Decree and declare the result of The Cross: “The kingdoms of this world have become The Kingdom of our God and of His Christ!“
For thus says The LORD,
“See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant,” Jeremiah 1:10.
Be valiant in battle. Use your tongue like David for swift victory.
Get your tongue FIRING!
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of Jesus Christ by The Will of God, according to The Promise of Life which is in Christ Jesus, (2 Timothy 1:1). As John was, Jacob is the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20). And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
To Lost sheep: The first step would be Repent of you sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you. Romans 10:10: For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made into salvation. You are starting right there to use the power of your tongue in English or whatever. When you begin to experience Jesus in the form of the Holy Spirit, the mornings and groaning of your heart may turn into something you have no words for. That’s when I have experienced the unknown tongue. That’s the Holy Spirit praying through you. There is also a “ Gift ofTongues” 1 Corinthians 13 talks about. But life and death IS in the power of the tongue, meaning there is power in our words to speak good or evil into existence. We can choose to walk and speak after our own mind, that’s the Tree of knowledge of good and evil, Which is death or we can choose the Tree of Life in Christ and seek to walk in His way, truth and life, which will set us free! John 8:32-33. God Bless you Brother
