Unity (Updated)
I have preached Unity so many times, and yet it’s still very high on God’s Agenda for His Church.
The LORD weeps over all the doctrinal and denominational schisms which divide The Church.
The late, great Bob Jones went on record as prophesying a billion soul harvest about to come into The Worldwide Church. The LORD is calling now for unity among the denominations, in order to help facilitate that harvest.
I’ve said before, and I say again, that over 95% of our beliefs are common to the vast majority of Church denominations!
The greatest weapon the enemy has against unity is fear. Fear of losing members to another Church, fear of losing financially the tithes and offerings, and fear of losing their denominational status from their own leadership.
Close behind this comes theological pride — “our doctrine is right — theirs is wrong!” How these break the Father’s Heart!
Now is the time to close and mend the schisms in The Church. Now is the time to come together in Unity and humility with others who will lay aside their differences in order to help disciple the harvest.
Those that will, who will begin to move in Unity with one another, will be blessed beyond their wildest dreams, but those that won’t, who will deny and oppose any new move — they will be cursed and will fall into decline and fail.
Unity in His Church is almost certainly The LORD’s highest Agenda at the moment, and He is seeking to bless those who will obey His Call.
Postscript
Following this Word about Unity, I was subsequently asked how we can unite with ‘churches’ that embrace and practice what God declares an abomination.
Simple answer — you don’t!
A ‘church’ which openly celebrates sin, isn’t a Church — no matter how ‘good’ they are in other areas.
““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Matthew 7:21-23.

~ Chris G. Bennett
Chris Bennett came to salvation in 1962 but didn’t begin ministry until 2007 — a late-comer! Now mandated by The LORD to prophesy and open old wells of revival in the U.K., but especially in Wales. He has also operated Healing Rooms, and worked with deliverance teams, all with his wife, Linda. Happily now doing whatever The LORD asks of them! Founder, with wife Linda, of their ministry The Upper Room Encounter.
When He comes, will He find faith? Can two walk together unless they be agreed? I have great respect for you brother Bennett, and yes, our Lord desires unity, but not at the cost of compromise. The Word of God says to “Come OUT of Babylon…. not stay in her. The whole Book of Revelation is about the Revelation of Jesus Christ in His bride, NOT the Harlot Church where the traditions of men have made the Word of God to no effect…. What do you do with the virgins who have all the gifts but don’t know the Lord? I hope you’d be one to warn them, not join them.
out of eph with all humility [forsaking self-righteousness], and gentleness [maintaining self-control], with patience, bearing with one another [a]in [unselfish] love. 3 Make every effort to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the bond of peace [each individual working together to make the whole successful]. 4 There is one body [of believers] and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when called [to salvation]— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of us all who is [sovereign] over all and [working] through all and [living] in all.
We all say we study to show ourselves approved, yet if there were exams with grades and marks who would then be approved. Course 1 baptism of the Holy Spirit (tongues or No) course 2 Pauls thorn in the flesh (was it a devil) course 3 Job (was God tempted by the devil) Wow where did everybody go we are all right in our own way, right!
There is also now a lot of ‘personality’ and ‘wordly culture’ in different churches. How people ‘interpret’ the word. I was brought up in the Methodist church and was taught reverence and respect for God and the Word. When I was baptised in the Spirit, I attended an old fashioned Pentecostal church, where I was also taught the importance of the Word by an annointed Pastor, who lived what he preached. There was a lot of interdenominational meetings at that time, so I respect and ‘enjoy’ different styles of worship. However, with such things as Toronto, people rely more on experiences & feelings and are ignorant of the Word of God. There are a lot of heresies and new age ideas which have crept into the church and false prophets.
