Understanding The Times: Winter 2022-2023 — Rise of the Bonhoeffers, A Great Recall, Further Transfers…

Corporately speaking, the Body of Christ is slowly beginning to ask some very difficult questions. Those questions are still for the most part being asked as Nicodemus did with Jesus; in the shadows where no one can call us out, where it costs us nothing… yet.

We are coming closer to the recognition that the things taking place within our nation are two-fold.

1. The result of our Decisions
2. Designed to create a heart-shift

Time passes quickly. When Covid was in full swing, I shared that there was more to come. More to follow in this season.

As winter approaches, amid the economic and political crisis this country is experiencing, I am led to share some insights for us all to pray into.

We are living in a new Epoch. The old wineskins can no longer hold the new wine. They are bursting all around us; among us.

Man-made traditions, man-made ministries, and man-centered ways of attempting to please Father-God are no longer being accepted before His throne room.

Jesus has been calling the Church of God to repent of self-centered living and trying to find identity from the world and our fellow Christians.

The Holy Spirit has been bearing witness to this. We can feel it. It is palpable. By and large, the American church is still resisting this.

It is causing much loss of peace, rest, and our borders are shrinking. Our spheres of influence, our financial freedom, as well as our walk will continue to decrease, diminish and suffer as a result.

There are 3 major components of this season I am burdened to share.

• Transfer of Authority
• Great Recall
• Bonhoeffer Spirit

Transfer of Authority

This has already begun . Look to see this spiritual reality cause some significant tumult in our political, economic and social circles; both on a national as well as personal circles.

Those who have been faithful to allow Christ to perform his crucial work have been promoted spiritually, and we are seeing this manifest in the natural realm.

“What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the Church may be built up.”
(Paul of Tarsus, speaking to the entire Christian assembly in the city of Corinth).

I can find no pews in the scriptures for fellowship. I see no mention of laity and clergy. This was man-made in the 4th century as the last remnants of Kingdom Power and Authority died within the Church.

Fast forward 1,500 years…..

The internet paved the way for the body of Christ to have incredible amounts of influence. The ability to preach with signs following was unleashed with social media and internet radio.

What an incredible gift! What honor was extended to all within the body of Christ whose giftings and calling were controlled, manipulated and distorted by those in positions of religious power within the born-again assembly.

The sad result is, we used social media to feed our own hurts, wounds and lack of self-worth.

Social media became a tool for us to feed our false identity. “Subscribe, Friend me, share my blogs and posts and I will promote yours…”

Are people being hit with the power of Jesus Christ and His manifest presence when we share the Gospel or fellowship with one another?

Where is the power and authority of Jesus Christ when we share a picture of a beautiful, wistful woman, clad in flowing, shimmering robes, holding a sword with a scripture verse underneath?

Yup, I went there.

Father has been, and is continuing to shrink the spheres of influence in some and give it to others whose heart beats only for what Jesus is looking to do. No excuses, no compromise.

It is taking place and will continue. Matthew 13 is coming to pass. Those who resist it will continue to work by the sweat of one’s brow to make up the “gap.”

Until, like King Saul, we destroy all we once loved. Ouch, sorry… that sounds kinda’ serious. I should probably tell a joke now. A man walks into a bar.. says ‘Ow, that really hurt!!!” (get it, get it?)

Okay, let’s keep going…

“I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me? And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” Acts 9:4-5.

Do some of us feel like we are being buffeted? Our platforms are being attacked, and we are spending more and more energy maintaining our place of influence or bringing our “vision” to pass?

We might want to get on our knees and ask Father if this is from Satan… or Him.

A Great Recall

“…so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12-13.

Much “prophecy” we hear and read in this generation is coming from men and women who refuse to share our part of the equation.

Conditional prophecy is foolishly being shared as unconditional things to come. This has been, and will continue to be lovingly disciplined by the Holy Spirit. (Mark 9:42)

Soon enough, when we have licked our wounds some more and enough time has passed we will begin to talk about the 2024 elections..

Soon, but not yet. So let the record state. Like this past election, it will depend on the condition of the heart of The Body of Christ. More on that in a time to come…!

These past couple of years was a time for men and women who walk in great intimacy with Jesus to come forth from the most obscure places.

We all knew about this. Well done magazines and online Christian websites have been hosting all sorts of people prophesying about the “Elijahs and John Baptist to come forth.” We all cheered. Yes and amen! I want Elijah to come speak at my Church! Yeah right…

The problem is, these men and women will not be yoked to anything other than Christ. They cannot be bartered with.

The doors were shut in their faces by the very institutions heralding their coming. Father is recalling this form of grace among the Church.

The Body of Christ does not want the correction of Elijah and John… so they are leaving. Back to the desert until we come to the end of our own agendas.

They are being recalled until the rest of the Church finally cries out for some kingdom insight without guile and compromise.

The result? True, deep, grounded and balanced words of Kingdom insight (some may call this prophecy- who cares?) will be rare. Very rare.

This is a season to stay in very close fellowship to those whom you can see and perceive Jesus Christ through them.

True discipleship gives the roadmap to the throne room. True mentoring and church life paves the path for ALL to get to great intimacy with Father-God. Look to those who point to Christ and Father’s throne room and that alone. Then you will do the same for others.

I would encourage anyone who would like some biblical precedent and further understanding to read Jeremiah 42.

Mature, prophetic insight into the Times and direction for the Body will become rare for a season. Let us use this time to deepen our own ability to repent and receive fresh manna from Heaven, mutually submitting ourselves to one another.

Our ability to have three-room insights is directly dependent upon our willingness to humble ourselves. Many leaders refuse to bow low in this arena; it is coming with a great cost attached to it.

Bonhoeffer Spirit

Jesus has raised up men and women who will not be afraid to speak out during these times. They are now among us.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a man who tirelessly tried in vain to get the Pastors and Church masses to wake up during the times preceding the Great Holocaust. Others are doing the same in this hour.

The most humbling aspect of this is that by and large, these individuals are, and will continue to be those who do not yet even know Jesus as Savior!

They will, nonetheless speak from a place of great “common” sense and biblical values… while the body of Christ has been content to be silent, we will be embarrassed and convicted by the loving and unyielding boldness of the “lost” crying out against much of the insanity taking place in our land.

Summary

“A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.” John 16:21.

On a personal note, it is always, no matter how challenging the immediate times, a great joy to see Jesus’ plans being birthed in each season. This one is no different.

Our Commander-in-Chief desires great Life to come forth through His Body.

Sadly, many will never relent in bringing forth fruit by the sweat of our own brow. Many will never cease from trying to conjure blessings through means that have been declared null and void by The Cross.

It is wreaking devastating consequences in our marriages, children, relationships, and above all our walk with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

However, for those who have been, and continue to respond to His calling forth, I have great news from you; your time is coming. You will soon forget the pangs being experienced in increasing measure.

A group of for-runners have dug in. You have counted the cost. You are renewing your minds and hearts to beat after whatever is on Jesus’ heart… no compromise. No hidden agendas or self-promotion.

Even as I type this, the blessings of The Kingdom are being deposited into your lives… with great, great authority and power! This is Father’s intention, until Isaiah 60 is fulfilled:

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” Isaiah 60-1-3.
