Understanding The Times Series: God Has Direction & Timing For Each Season…

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1.

Understanding The Times

“And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…” 1 Chronicles 12:32.

It is our spiritual birthright, to have a relationship so deep with God, that we can think, feel and see what is within His heart. For many, we do not stop to really meditate on what this might look like.

A component of this birthright, is to understand what Our God wants to do through His Church.

We exit seasons, and we enter into new seasons. Rinse, repeat.

Too often, the Child Of God, no matter how mature we are, do not choose to access His Kingdom in regard to Direction and Timing.

I know many brothers and sisters in Christ (whom I dearly love and respect) that can heal physical and spiritual sickness in others, exhort, destroy demonic attacks, bring forth very accurate personal prophecy for another believer, love God with all their being… and yet have little sense on what the Kingdom is doing in the moment, globally or nationally.

Why should our great warriors who love Jesus, who minister with authority, save the Lost, and advance His Kingdom, fail to receive Wartime dispatches from heaven? For that matter, why should any child of God not?

This should not be. It is so, though, because we do not allow the members of the body of Christ to bring forth what they receive from Father’s Throne-room. (1 Corinthians 12:27) This is in direct (and is demonic) conflict with the basic understanding that we all have a purpose, and we all are meant to minister to one another (Romans 12:3-7ff, 1 Corinthians 14:26, 14:29)

The purpose of this is for ALL OF US to grow to look just like Jesus in the fullness of His nature while fulfilling our Earth walk in Him.

Vision creates gateways to His heart. Vision is an invitation to the church to step deeper in the His Being and Glory. (Ephesians 4:11-13 , 2 Peter 1:19, 2 Corinthians 3:18)

What the pride of man within the Body of Christ is failing to understand, is that those who bring forth Father-God’s heart, are not making man dependent upon them like under the mosaic law.

Rather, in the New Covenant, when we receive a word from God, we judge it, bear witness with it (or reject it) and use it to teach, edify and instruct us all in the deeper and deeper pathways to His heart and throne-room.

“Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10.

Simply put, mature, accurate, New Covenant prophecy does not point to oneself. It teaches others how to grow in the same abilities and more.

True prophecy points each of us back to Christ. We need to stop despising this out of pride, shame, hurt, or whatever…

Scripture makes it very clear, that our Father’s Kingdom operates on two (2) key principles:

• Direction
• Timing

“In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.” Genesis 15:16.

All throughout the Word, we see God sharing His plans with man… and then talking about the timing of those plans.

One of the greatest needs in America today is for a clear understanding into the heart and mind of Jesus Christ.

Timing is an Ancient Path… and one that has long become forgotten (I hope to teach on this a little bit as part of the Ancient Path Series).

It is not much a part of our church-life and culture, as the spirit of this world has crept into much of how we have been taught to process spiritual matters.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12.

The Church would not be carrying so much sickness of the heart, if we knew, and then chose to cooperate, with His directions and timing.

The Purpose of This Ongoing Series:

I have compiled these following posts in the hopes that as we reflect on both seasons present as well as seasons past, we may all (myself included) continue to grow in spiritual sensitivity, as well as hunger for His Kingdom.

May we all become like the sons of Issachar, wisely discerning the Times, in order that we may be partakers of the joy of intimacy, healing, maturity, and perhaps greatest of all, helping to rescue His lost children.
