Two Things That Will Give You a Long Life
I know this is long but may save your life.
I heard President Trump’s Doctor talking in a press conference a bit ago. When asked how the President could be in such good shape without a good diet and exercise, he said a couple of things that caught my attention.
They reminded me of some things that the LORD spoke to me about, many times :
- Purpose and also,
- How to deal with stress.
Two things which the President has!
You get a Re-set button!
The first thing he said was that, the President had an uncanny ability to get up every morning and re-set and not let the stress of yesterday pile up.
I immediately thought of the scripture in Lamentations 3:22-23
“It is because of the LORD’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His tender compassion’s fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.”
These scriptures tell me that we can go forward new and fresh every morning because we do not have to live with the guilt and stress and pain of yesterday.
This got me through a very hard time in my life, where I was daily going through a situation to where I had opportunities to either grab a hold of His mercy daily or live with the heaviness of the hurts and pain of yesterday.
His mercy is truly new every morning.
He said to pray daily to forgive all those who trespass against us, and then He will forgive us.
God knows our frame and gives us this RE-SET everyday so that we can function as human beings in a fallen world.
It is vital to our health and well being and so that is why God made a way to give us a fresh start each and every day.
Purpose in Life
Secondly the President’s Doctor said that if the President might live to be 200 years old, had he exercised.
At that point, the LORD reiterated to me something He has said to me for years.
He said that when people find their destiny and calling and walk in it that purpose that, it is what causes people to live longer.
Daily getting up and walking in the purpose to they were called, will cause a person to live and that the body follows the Spirit and will.
It is when they lose sight of their purpose that hopelessness sets in and sickness and death begin to take place in our bodies.
“The strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble, but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear?” Proverbs 18:14.
My mother and I use to go into nursing homes and sing to the residents and we would notice that when they first came in, you could see a spark still in their eyes, but once they came into these places and they realized that they were there to stay and that their life as they knew it was over, hopelessness set in and they would soon be sitting there with a blank look on their faces and would just be waiting to die.
I believe that President Trump has always been one who has focused on his purpose and still sees that he has a lot more to do.
When we are doing what we were always called to do, it causes our will to live to translate into the strength in our bodies to live to do this.
To sum it up, there are a lot more things that contribute to longevity, but for now these two things are what the LORD pointed out to me: the ability to RE-SET and know that Jesus made a way to do that, and having a PURPOSE set before us.
Waking up everyday and pressing into that purpose! These two things will cause us to be resilient against some of life’s greatest enemies!
Moses did not die until he was told that he would not go into the promised land. His purpose was up and he knew it.
If you have either been sitting around pining over the mistakes of yesterday and allowing that to weigh heavy on your body and mind or have lost your will to walk in purpose, please pray this with me.
LORD, I thank you that you have shown me why I do not want to live anymore.
I repent for allowing my circumstances to weigh heavy on me and allowing it to cause me to lose my will to fulfill my purpose.
I forgive all who have caused me to feel this way and I forgive myself for letting it stop me.
I choose to walk in my calling.
LORD, give me a new fresh desire and excitement to do what you have called me to do.
Father, I take a hold of the mercy that you give to me on a daily basis so that I might have a new hope of doing your will and doing all that you have created me to do with joy!
In Jesus’ Name, amen!
“Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing,” Psalms 92:13-14.
“You shall come to your grave in ripe old age, and as a shock of grain goes up to the threshing floor in its season,” Job 5:26.
