Two Paths, Two Reports
A psalm to praise and sing to God, out loud.
Two Paths, Two Reports
Two paths:
Like night or day
Like left or right
Like despair or hope
Like death or life
Like curses or blessings
Like poverty or prosperity
Like rebellion or obedience
Remember the children of Israel
Remember the choices they made
For their LORD God brought them out of Egypt
Gave them freedom
Gave them treasures
Provided their every need
But soon they forgot what He had done
And did not wait for His plan to unfold
And it angered Him so…
Two reports:
Like weakness or strength
Like fear or courage
Like unbelief or belief
Like oppression or freedom
Like falling away or holding fast
Like complaining or praising
Like lies or truth
Remember the children of Israel
Remember the choices they made
For their LORD God led them to the Promised Land
Gave them a land full of plenty
Gave them a land of peace and security
Commanded them to go forth and be blessed
But soon they faltered in their courage
And did not believe in His Promises
And it disappointed Him so
Two paths
Two reports
One from the enemy
The other from The LORD;
Ever seeing but never perceiving
Ever hearing but never understanding
Otherwise they might turn
And be forgiven!
Remember children of God
Remember the children of Israel
A valley of decision is always before you;
To choose who to believe and trust in
And although times may seem dark
And going in the wrong direction
And you may not always know what is ahead
And things may seem upside down
Yet The LORD is working on your behalf
He never sleeps
He never slumbers
His is always on His Throne
His Eye is always seeing…
He never sleeps
He never slumbers
He is always on His Throne
His Ear is always hearing…
So remember children of God
Remember the children of Israel
Two paths, two reports
One from the enemy
The other from The LORD;
Ever seeing but never perceiving
Ever hearing but never understanding
Otherwise they might turn
And be forgiven!
Otherwise they might turn
And be forgiven!
Two paths
Two reports
Which one will you believe?
“‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’” Mark 4:12
“But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”” Numbers 13:31-33
“But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the Lord appeared at the tent of meeting to all the Israelites. The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them?” Numbers 14:10-11
“Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness, where your ancestors tested me; they tried me, though they had seen what I did. For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.’ So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’” Psalm 95:8-11
“When the Lord heard them, he was furious; his fire broke out against Jacob, and his wrath rose against Israel, for they did not believe in God or trust in his deliverance.” Psalm 78:21-22
“And so he brought them to the border of his holy land, to the hill country his right hand had taken. He drove out nations before them and allotted their lands to them as an inheritance; he settled the tribes of Israel in their homes. But they put God to the test and rebelled against the Most High, they did not keep his statutes.” Psalm 78:54-56
“They say, “The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob takes no notice.” Take notice, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise? Does he who fashioned the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see? Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge? The Lord knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile.” Psalm 94:7-11
“See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 30:15-20

“Let everything that has breath praise The LORD.” Psalm 150:6.
