Trust In the LORD And Praise Him, Even in Times of Darkness!
Blessed is the man who trusts in Jehovah, and Jehovah is his trust.1
He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens by His judgement.2
And in His name, the nations shall trust.3
He is the LORD, our God; His judgements are in all the earth.4
Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples!5
Sing to Him; sing praises to Him; tell of all His wondrous works!6
Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!7
Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His presence continually!7
Remember the wondrous works that He has done, His miracles and the judgements He uttered.9
He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in the heavens and in earth, He who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.10
Remember His covenant forever, the Word that He commanded, for a thousand generations.11
God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect.12
He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt. And the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at His steps.13
In famine, He shall redeem you from death; and in war from the power of the sword.14
The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD is avenging and wrathful; the LORD takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies.15
The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.16
He rebukes the sea and makes it dry; He dries up all the rivers; Bashan and Carmel wither; the bloom of Lebanon withers.17
The mountains quake before Him; the hills melt; the earth heaves before Him, the world and all who dwell in it.18
Who can stand before His indignation? Who can endure the heat of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken into pieces by Him.19
The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who take refuge in Him.20
But with an overflowing flood, He will make a complete end of the adversaries, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.21
What do you plot against the LORD? He will make a complete end; trouble will not rise up a second time.22
When God sends destruction on the ungodly, He commands deliverance for the righteous. In bad company, we cannot but get either guilt or grief. Let the sins of others be troubles to us. Yet, it is possible for the children of the Lord, living among the most profane, to retain their integrity. By the power and grace of Christ, and His dwelling in us; we can stand firm and resist the temptations of Satan, his wickedness, terrors or allurements.
When God sends destruction on the ungodly, He commands deliverance for the righteous; and, if He rains fire and brimstone on the wicked, He will cover the head of the just, and they shall be hidden in the day of His anger. This, we have an instance of in his preserving of Lot.
Lord, You are faithful to those who are faithful. You are good to those who are good.23
You never do wrong to those who have done no wrong. But You outsmart the wicked, no matter how clever they are.24
You help those who are humble, but You humiliate the proud.25
LORD, You provide the flame for my lamp. You, God, turn the darkness around me into light.26
With Your help, I can defeat an army. If my God is with me, I can climb over enemy walls.27
God’s way is perfect. The LORD’S promise always proves to be true. He protects those who trust in him.28
There is no God except the LORD. There is no Rock except our God.29
God is the one who gives me strength. He clears the path I need to take.30
He makes my feet as steady as those of a deer. Even on steep mountains, He keeps me from falling.31
He trains me for war so that my arms can bend the most powerful bow.32
Lord, you have given me your shield to protect me. You support me with your right hand. It is your help that has made me great.33
You cleared a path for my feet so that I could walk without stumbling.34
I chased my enemies and caught them. I did not stop until they were destroyed.35
I struck them down, and they could not get up again. They fell under my feet.36
God, you made me strong in battle. You made my enemies fall before me.37
You made my enemies turn and run away. I destroyed those who hated me.38
The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high; He will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.39
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether.40
For God will bring every deed into judgement, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.41
You who fear the LORD, praise Him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify Him, and stand in awe of Him, all you offspring of Israel!42
Trust in the Lord and praise Him, even in times of darkness.
Praise the Lord, praise Him with thanksgiving!
Amen!
